‘Palo Santo – wow what a find’
Designer fragrances have long dominated men’s grooming shelves, but expensive price tags can stop many owning one. One fragrance that has been quietly getting attention is a £26 aftershave that has been compared to far more expensive names such as Creed and Tom Ford.
Men’s grooming company Cremo is now currently offering 25% off sitewide to celebrate new product launches and best sellers, with free shipping on orders over £30. The discount code CREMO25 is valid until 15 February, bringing several of the brand’s most popular fragrances and staples down to affordable prices.
With Valentine’s Day approaching, the brands Eau de Toilette and body wash combinations are being positioned as thoughtful, low-effort gift options. First up is the Palo Santo Reserve Collection Cologne Spray 100ml that is now £26.22 down from £34.95 when the code is applied.
According to the brand, this spray is often described as a fragrance that smells significantly more expensive than its price suggests. Opening with bright cardamom, it settles into dry papyrus and rich palo santo, creating a warm, woody profile that feels confident without being overpowering.
The overall effect is said to be distinctly masculine, with enough softness to make it suitable for daily wear. For lasting results, Cremo says to start with clean, dry skin, then hold the bottle 3-6 inches away from the body before spraying a small amount of cologne onto pulse points: neck, wrists and chest, and then reapply sparingly throughout the day if needed.

Opening with bright cardamom, it settles into dry papyrus and rich palo santo, creating a warm, woody profile that feels confident without being overpowering.
Next up is the Palo Santo Reserve Collection Body Wash which is priced at £13.05 on the website – no discount code is applicable for this product however. The Palo Santo scent extends into the Reserve Collection body wash which is designed to complement the cologne.
The fragrance mirrors the same blend of cardamom, papyrus and palo santo, delivering a nice grooming routine for men. The formula lathers generously and is designed to cleanse without stripping the skin, making it suitable for regular use.
To get best results, the brand says wet the body thoroughly, then put a small amount of body wash into hands or onto a loofah, then lather up and ‘massage gently’ to create a rich foam before applying it to the body. Alongside Palo Santo, Spice & Black Vanilla Eau de Toilette remains one of Cremo’s most recognisable scents as well as its Shaving Cream Original that offers a ‘clean, comfortable shave,’ and smooth skin according to the brand.
If this isn’t the one for everyone, there are other options available to choose from for example, Lookfantastic has the Maison Margiela Replica By The Fireplace Eau de Toilette 30ml for £62. This is described as being a ‘woody fragrance that captures the memory of a cosy evening’ near the fireplace in 1971 France.
This fragrance features top notes of clove oil, pink pepper, orange flower petals followed by heart notes of chestnut accord, gaiic wood oil and base notes of vanilla accord and cashmeran. Boots has a cheaper option with the Versace The Dreamer Eau De Toilette Spray 100ml for £25.
This scent is said to be ‘alluring, sensual and comforting’ all at the same time. The Cremo products have been scored highly though with ratings from shoppers on its website.
One person wrote about the Palo Santo fragrance: “Palo Santo – wow what a find!! This smells like a much more expensive parfum. It is strong and lasts extremely well. My husband (very fussy) normally wears Creed or Tom Ford. He wanted something he could just leave in his gym bag so we bought this and the matching shampoo and body wash. Couldn’t be more delighted. I’d say it’s a strong masculine scent but also has warmth and is quite sexy! A win for both of us.”
Another said: “I love this fragrance. It’s my new daily scent. It’s a very “manly” scent with strong masculine attributes. It puts a lot of expensive colognes to shame. Thank you Cremo. I bought the shower body wash as well.”
With the body wash shoppers also rated it a high 4.9 stars, saying: “Purchased a few weeks back and very happy with it , beautiful smell and lathers well. Would 100% buy again.”
A handful of shoppers did remove a star and one said: “I really like it, but I favour some other scents more. My favourite scents so far are the Bourbon & Oak and the Sage & Citrus. But! I am trying out more new scents and I’m excited. I absolutely LOVE your products. They are all I want to buy now for my shower needs.”
A second commented: “A great scent. Could smell more like actual Palo Santi but still good.” Overall, most people were more than pleased: “Love the smell and how smooth it leaves my skin.”
