Police involved in tackling organised crime arrested a man following a raid at Bilston Glen Industrial Estate, in Midlothian, Scotland, and he has now been charged with drug offences

A man has been charged with drug offences after an organised crime investigation by police at an industrial estate.

Police involved in tackling organised crime made the arrest after searches were carried out at a premises at the Bilston Glen Industrial Estate on Dryden Road, Loanhead, in Midlothian.

A warrant was served on the premises earlier in February and forensic teams had been seen at the site in the days which followed. And a 43-year-old man arrested has been charged with drug offences.

The man was arrested after forensic officers were pictured scouring business premises at the Bilston Glen Industrial Estate this week. Police were called out to the development on February 6 following the execution of a warrant and have remained on scene for several days.

Detective chief inspector Laura Sands, who is part of Police Scotland’s organised crime partnership, which includes staff from the National Crime Agency, confirmed the arrest.

She said that the investigation is continuing while assuring that there was no risk to the public at large – but anyone with concerns can approach the police.

“Officers are at a premises on Dryden Road, Loanhead, following the execution of a warrant on Friday February 6 2026. A 43-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with drug offences,” said DCI Sands.

“Inquiries remain ongoing. There is no risk to the wider public and anyone with concerns can approach officers in the area.”

Police, forensic officers and an ambulance crew have all been seen in attendance over recent days. Plain clothed officers and forensics team were inside a makeshift tent set up outside the premises, while a CID tarpaulin had also been erected outside the address.
