A man has been arrested in connection with the death of an elderly woman.
The 75-year-old man is held in custody following the discovery of the 82-year-old woman at a home on Elm Avenue in Cherry Willingham, located in the West Lindsey district of Lincolnshire, on Monday afternoon.
The woman’s next of kin have been informed. Lincolnshire Police said: “At this stage we are treating the woman’s death as suspicious, but we remain open-minded as we await the return of test results and toxicology to further understand the circumstances involved in this lady’s death. We are not looking for anyone else in connection with the investigation.”
A scene guard is in place as officers investigate the incident, which is logged as 313 of 12/01/26. Police are expected to remain at the property until well into tomorrow.
