A vehicle fire has caused part of a major motorway to shut, causing heavy delays in the area.
Traffic has been stopped on part of the M62 in Greater Manchester following the incident at around 10:40am. A vehicle fire on the eastbound carriageway shortly after junction 21, at Milnrow, is causing the delays.
A post from the Inrix traffic monitoring service said: “All traffic being temporarily held and stationary traffic due to vehicle fire on M62 Eastbound after J21 A6193 Sir Isaac Newton Way (Milnrow). All traffic stopped at around 10:40.”
According to Google traffic data, queues are building up past junction 20 for Rochdale.
