National Highways states: “There is also a full closure between J27 and J26 due to a separate, unrelated incident. This has effectively closed the M25 between J28 and J26.
“Emergency services, including Essex Police, are at the scene. National Highways Traffic Officers are also in attendance, assisting with traffic management.
“Essex Police accident investigation works are ongoing before the HGVs can be recovered. All trapped traffic between the nearest junction and the incident has been cleared.
“Repairs or clean-up works may be required before the road can reopen. At this stage, no reopening time is available, and the closure is expected to remain in place until any damage caused by the fire can be assessed and repaired.”
