There are huge queues on the M1 after two major incidents including a “serious collision” involving a pedestrian.
The A50 in Derbyshire is closed near its junction with the motorway after that collision and an air ambulance is at the scene.
The road is shut in both directions between the M1 and the A6 for Derby. National Highways confirmed that all emergency services were on the scene.
Meanwhile, a second collision around Junction 25 of the M1 at Stapleford is causing miles of further gridlock.
