Last year fragrance brand Kayali came out with an April’s Fool joke that had the internet begging for more. They described Kitten Musk | 41 as smelling of warm milk, marshmallow fluff and soft musk – many fans were devastated to discover this actually wasn’t real. That’s how we ended up with the very real Boujee Kitty | 22.
There are overlapping notes although the scent that’s hit shelves this month is a little more complicated. It opens up with notes of salted caramel (a star note in Sol de Janeiro’s Cheirosa 62), coconut and caramel milk.
There’s then a heart of white chocolate, vanilla caviar and the sought after marshmallow fluff note. It then dries down to caramel santal, soft musk and Kayali’s signature accord. The result is a creamy sweet scent being described as the ‘perfect gourmand’.
This scent is perfect for fans of Lush’s Let The Good Times Roll which retails at £25 a bottle. This body spray is a caramel sweet fragrance with a strong popcorn note, while there’s no popcorn in Boujee Kitty there is a very caramel forward feel to it.
Ellis Brooklyn also has a popular caramel scent in Queens Caramel which retails at £35 for a 10ml bottle, which is £7 more than Boujee Kitty in the same size. Our team perfume expert Jada Jones has tried both and said: “Boujee Kitten is much creamier while the maple, salt and jasmine make Queens Caramel slightly sexier. I think they both will draw in the same person but I’d reach for Kayali of a daytime and Ellis Brooklyn of an evening or for dates.”

The scent started as an April’s Fools Day joke
Kayali Boujee Kitty Caramel Milk 22 has pulled in an average rating of 4.8 out of five from over 100 reviews. One shopper said: “My new go to scent. New favourite perfume. I knew I was going to love this one but it’s even better than I could have expected.”
Another customer who was thrilled by the longevity wrote a longer review which reads: “Kayali Boujee Kitty Caramel Milk is such a fun, cosy gourmand fragrance that feels warm, creamy, and effortlessly luxurious. Right from the first spray I get a rich blend of sweet caramel and milky vanilla with a soft fluffy sweetness that dries down into a smooth, comforting scent that stays close to the skin while still getting compliments.
“I applied it to my pulse points, and the longevity was impressive, lasting around 6–8 hours with a soft, creamy trail. It layers beautifully with vanilla or marshmallow fragrances to make it even sweeter, but it’s also beautiful on its own. This perfume makes me feel feminine, confident, and wrapped in a cosy cashmere blanket—perfect for date nights, cooler weather, or anytime I want to smell delicious and elegant.”
It’s been described as ‘cosy’, which we must agree with thanks to the lactonic nature of the scent. One reviewer said: “This smells so good. If you like a gourmand fragrance, this is for you. You really get the caramel and milk notes and it blends together perfectly. This is also really strong and long-lasting. This reminds me of cuddling up with a blanket and a cup of coffee.”
Some buyers have compared the Boujee Kitty fragrance to Bianco Latte, which costs £110 for a 100ml bottle and is considered to be an ultimate creamy scent. This shopper said: “Boujee Kitty opens with a quick and heavy punch of butterscotch and white chocolate, then goes into immediate BL territory. It lasts several hours and the final hours are very nice, the white chocolate seems to come back at the end.”
Meanwhile another shopper did make the comparison to Bianco Latte but wasn’t so impressed, they said: “This just smells like caramel popcorn, but you get a bit of chocolate in the dry down. Kind of feels like Kayali put as little effort as possible into getting in their version of Bianco latte, but this is more like a distant cousin to BL because it lacks the depth and quality.
“It’s similar but inferior to queens caramel, but if you replace the maple note in QC with caramel popcorn, it would be close. Although queens caramel is warm, melty, delicious and just gets better in the dry down, bougie kitty just falls flat and smells more artificial.”
Overall it appears to be loved by fans of sweet scents, with this customer adding: “The Kayali Boujee Kitty Caramel Milk is the perfect gourmand fragrance. It is sweet and milky. The caramel notes are strong but in a good way, and I noticed the fragrance lasted all day. I love layering this fragrance with other Kayali scents for the perfect combinations.”
