Residents have taken to social media to enquire what has happened after hearing multiple emergency service vehicles.
“At least 9 police/paramedic cars have gone through the village, doesn’t sound good at all,” wrote one person.
While another said: “The corner of Chapel Lane and Long Lane. Multiple police and fire from Merseyside and Lancashire. The roads now closed.”
And a further said: “Was wondering what all the sirens were for. Hope all involved are OK.”
