A massive fire erupted at a car repair workshop in London this evening – with 10 fire engines and 70 firefighters racing to the scene to battle the blaze.
Images taken from outside the building showed a thick plume of grey smoke filling the sky above an Industrial Estate near Harold Wood train station. The single storey car workshop on Faringdon Avenue in Harold Hill, Romford, was completely alight, the London Fire Brigade said.
It added: “The Brigade’s 999 Control officers received the first call of 45 calls alerting them to the fire at 1758. They deployed fire crews from Harold Hill, Romford, Hornchurch, Ilford, Dagenham, Woodford as well as several fire engines from Essex County Fire and Rescue Service. Fire crews remain on scene at the incident.”
