Fans of the ‘modern’ look could save £75 by choosing B&M’s ‘lookalike’ option
H&M fans who enjoy the fashion brand’s aesthetic and style may be able to save a few pounds if they look at what’s available at B&M. The budget store is a popular choice for many across the UK, thanks to its wide array of products under one roof at affordable prices.
While B&M may not seem like the first store that comes to mind when shoppers think about sprucing up their furniture, it does offer a variety of options that arguably look more expensive than they really are. As part of its latest lineup, the shop is selling a side table that could easily be mistaken for a pricer version at H&M.
B&M is selling a Metal Arch Side Table from its Home Collection in beige. The ‘modern’ table is described by B&M as “perfect for your home” and “great for holding lamps, ornaments and vases”.
B&M claims it is ‘easy’ to assemble yourself and is only priced at £10. For fans of the ‘contemporary’ look, H&M is offering a similar version that arguably looks almost identical to B&M’s style.
H&M’s Tray Top Metal Side Table is available in three colours: beige, grey, and white. It also sports a very similar ‘abstract’ design, with a flat table top and curved legs.
However, H&M’s version costs much more, at £85. It means B&M shoppers could achieve a similar look if they opt for the £10 ‘lookalike’, while saving £75.
In the product description of the £85 table, H&M says: “The stylish design of this unusual side table features a tray-style top, which lifts off for added practicality, and a continuation of one section of the base, up and over the table to create a ‘handle’ effect. Both the tray top and base are made from metal with a painted finish.”
While the two tables look similar, there are still a few differences. B&M’s £10 version looks slightly shinier than H&M’s and the dimensions differ slightly. H&M’s table is 40cm wide, 40cm deep and 66cm tall. B&M’s offering is 40cm wide, 40cm deep but 64cm tall, so a little bit shorter.
B&M’s £10 table is available in stores and online. To check which branch nearest you has it in stock, visit the B&M website and use its postcode search tool. H&M’s table is also available to order online or to view in stores.
In other B&M news, customers have shared their thoughts after visiting the biggest B&M in the UK.
