The ‘swindler’ is though to be ‘squatting’ and using a burner phone as his disappearance has been labelled part of an elaborate plan to get himself of the trouble that has surfaced since his marriage to Katie Price
Lee Andrews’ disappearance has been labelled a ‘frantic escape’ plan from his whirlwind marriage to Katie Price as the ‘swindler’ is missing in Dubai.
The TV star has been ghosted for almost a week, after her husband promised her money.
Katie now fears she may ‘never hear’ from her elusive husband as reports suggest that the 43-year-old is ‘squatting in a slightly run-down villa’ and using a burner phone to speak to those he trusts.
Lee is reportedly wanted by Interpol after Herts police escalated an investigation involving claims from one of his exes, with The Sun claiming that he is ‘frantically planning a route out of this ginormous hole he appears to have buried himself in’.
It is also claimed that Lee owes Katie money, even showing her cheques he’d allegedly deposited into her account however the funds have not appeared.
Lee had reportedly last spoke to his wife on Wednesday night before the location on his phone disappeared and his family lost contact at 10.03pm.
On Saturday night, Katie said on her YouTube channel that, contrary to a statement released earlier in the week, claiming Lee was ‘taking a break’ from social media, he was actually ‘missing’.
The TV star has been communicating with authorities in Dubai, who told her that they had no idea of his whereabouts.
The former glamour model has been left to believe her husband has been kidnapped with her adding that her final FaceTime call with him saw him with his wrists tied together, a hood over his head, and sitting inside an ‘old, dirty van’ with mesh windows, panicking that ‘they [were] coming back for [him]’.
Katie, 47, has denied having any part in the scheme for publicity.
Lee’s family have now taken action, filing an official missing persons report with the British Embassy in Dubai, where Lee claimed to have outright purchased a £36million mansion with the Katie.
This has been exposed as a rental.
Price married Lee after knowing him a number of days in January.
He is her fourth husband and also her ninth engagement, with him popping the question after just two days from their first meeting.
After the pair’s engagement it was revealed that just months prior he had proposed to another women in exactly the same way.
Family and fans have shared their concerns from the beginning of the relationship.
Katie’s sister Sophie has been a harsh critic, claiming she is unable to even say his name’ because of how much he ‘winds [her] up’.
Katie’s children Princess, 18, and Junior, 20, have said they want their mum to ‘be happy’ but learnt of her engagement via text and have not met Lee.
It has also emerged that Lee, who has lived in Dubai for 21 years, has lied on his CV and boasted about his entrepreneurial successes with little evidence to back it up.
He has claimed that he earns between $2-5m (£1.5-3.7m) annually from the US stock market, among other ventures.
His CV claimed of being a member of the board of advisors for the Labour Party and director of philanthropy at The King’s Trust, formerly The Prince’s Trust.
Both organisations denied any affiliation with Lee and he said the deceit was down to an assistant.
But, he has also been accused of scamming ex-girlfriends, with him branded a ‘liar’ and a ‘swindler’.
American businesswoman Crystal Janke accused Lee of conning her after she had invested £123,000 in his sustainable vehicle company.
He reportedly did not repay her, nor did she receive the £1million she was promised.
He has also reportedly begged another woman for money, just days before asking Katie for her hand in marriage, a claim he also denies.
Another ex, Alana Percival, claims he pulled a similar airport vanishing act on her a year ago after telling her he had a ‘life-limiting heart condition’.
Percival had a nine month long relationship with Lee, during which time he said he ‘loved [her] more than life itself’ in WhatsApp messages she’s since shared online.
However since then she has been urging Katie to ‘run for the hills’ before he tried to also con her.
On top of this, he also spent three months in prison last year for fraud.
He is believed to have been detained after his personal trainer ex, Dina Taji, whom he was with for two years, discovered he had forged her signature to take out a £200k mortgage in her name.
She allegedly found out from the mortgage company when they contacted her.
Lee reportedly spent time in Dubai’s Al-Awir central prison, which meant on release he was served with a travel ban, hence why he has not been returning to the UK with Katie on her recent visits.
Although he initially denied having this ban, Katie recently revealed he does have one, telling her podcast listeners: “You can get a travel ban for absolutely anything.”
Her most recent visit saw to the UK saw Katie appear on Good Morning britain alone where she denied that Lee had been detained at the airport, claiming visa issues held him back.
However, details of his ‘kidnapping’ emerged shortly after.
