Fresh from his address to Congress, King Charles delivered another speech at the White House last night during a state dinner.
And during several moments, he had guests laughing with his gag-filled speech. He drew roars of laughter when he quipped the dinner was a “very considerable improvement on the Boston Tea Party.”
Poking gentle fun at Trump’s reconstruction of the White House’s East Wing, he commented: “’I’m sorry to say that we British, of course, made our own small attempt at real estate redevelopment of the White House in 1814.”
While in another joke, related to Trump’s recent comment that “if it were not for the United States, European countries would be speaking German”, Charles quipped: “’Dare I say it, if it wasn’t for us, you’d be speaking French”, which made the president laugh.”
