Amazon shoppers have praised the cooling bandana as a quick and easy way to bring your dog’s temperature down on a walk or while in the garden, and you can snap it up for £7.50
Walking your pet in high temperatures is always a worry, especially when a sudden sunny spell catches you off guard. No matter how carefully you’ve timed their daily walk – or even if you’re just letting them potter around the garden – sudden or extreme heat can be dangerous for your pooch.
To make sure you’re always prepared for just such an occasion, a cooling bandana is a compact and easy item to keep in your bag, car or pocket at all times, as it can quickly bring their temperatures down until you can get them back in the shade. That’s why Amazon shoppers have been rushing to snap up the All For Paws Chill Out Dog Ice Bandana Set as the UK’s heatwave continues.

The bandana bundle gets you two cooling bandanas with different patterns, and the set is available in several different sizes to fit multiple breeds of dogs. The smallest size currently available is a medium, which measures 38-46cm and costs just £13.99 (or £7.49 per bandana), whilst the largest is the XL set for £16.99, working out at just £8.49 each.
Having two is also ideal for either multi-dog households or to make sure you’ve always got one stashed in a bag or car boot. To activate the bandana, all you need to do is soak it in water and fasten it around your dog’s neck, and the specialised material will immediately start to cool them down.
This makes it easy to use on a walk if your dog is starting to get hot, or to take with you whilst away from home. You can also soak the Dog Ice Bandana and pop it in the fridge for 10 minutes for an extra boost if needed, and it’s been designed to be non-irritating, so they can wear it regularly until temperatures start to drop again.
Although the All For Paws bandanas come in playful rainbow and flamingo prints, if you want something a little more simple, this plain blue Cooling Pet Bandana is a little more affordable for just £4 at Naylors. To maximise cooling, you could also pick up the Crufts Cooling Vest for £7-£15 depending on the size at Dunelm, which works in the same way as the bandana but covers the same amount of body as a harness.
However, shoppers seem to have loved the Dog Ice Bandana from Amazon, with one reviewer writing: “Does exactly what they are meant to do, I have a 13 year old American Cocker and they cool her down very quickly during the heat.”
Another said: “He wasn’t so keen on having it round his neck at first but is getting used to it. It does cool him down and I’ve been putting mine in the freezer as in this current heat it warms quicker. Great having two of them too!”
One did find issue with the packaging, rather than the product, saying: “Great product just a shame that the items come attached to cardboard with the plastic punched through them, so the gel that is inside them leaks out, can continue to use them for now but not really ideal.”
Another also said: “Good idea but keeps freezing in my fridge came on time keeps dog cool once thawed.”
However, another happy shopper credited the Dog Ice Bandana as a life saver, saying: “Through out this awful heat wave, my old fat pug has panted so bad all day that I worried his heart would give out. I’m so impressed with this cool collar. He’s only worn it today but he’s not panted or stressed at all. I think this collar may have saved his life. Very impressed and would recommend it to any dog owner. I got the large since he’s got a thick neck and it’s great. Don’t wait…do it.”
