Kate Middleton is a known fan of Le Chameau’s wellies, and the brand just dropped a brand new collection for autumn that’s perfect for rainy days in the countryside
With autumn drawing in and the rain threatening to dampen all of our favourite outdoor activities, a good pair of wellies has never been more important. But practicality and stylishness don’t have to be mutually exclusive, as proven by Kate Middleton’s go-to pair of Le Chameau.
The Princess of Wales has been spotted in a pair of the brand’s £180 green Vierzon Wellington Boots even before she joined the Royal family, cementing them as a key part of her outdoors style. And now, to celebrate the new season, Le Chameau has launched another partnership that’s completely unexpected, but makes perfect sense; the Le Chameau X National Trust collection.

The collaboration takes Le Chameau’s classic designs and gives them a fresh new update ready to spend autumn outdoors with the UK’s best-loved heritage charity. The Le Chameau X National Trust collection features an upgraded version of Princess Kate’s go-to wellies, with the National Trust Vierzon Jersey Lined Wellington Boot priced at £220.
This new version of the boots is the brand’s most sustainable yet, made with a jersey lining made from organic cotton and recycled polyester, a removable antibacterial insole made with recycled materials. Even the adjustable straps are crafted from 100% post-consumer recycled bottles, with 10% from each purchase going directly to the National Trust to support its conservational work.
Le Chameau’s National Trust Vierzon Jersey Lined Wellington Boots come in an oak green colourway that’s not dissimilar to Princess Kate’s favourite colourway, and feature a unique Le Chameau X National Trust logo on the front. They also have a bespoke Écho lining print that was inspired by Buckland Abbey to honour Britain’s natural and cultural heritage.
The collection includes a pair of both men’s and women’s boots, as well as a £35 boot bag, which not only protects your new wellies from getting damaged, but helps keep your car and home clean from any mud you’ve picked up on your adventures. The boots are fully waterproof and fully lined to make sure your feet stay warm as well as dry, and will hold up against all manner of puddles, mud and fallen leaves that might cross your bath during the colder months.
Whilst you might not think of wellies as being something that can trend, other brands that have an impressive celebrity following include Hunter, with the Original Tall Boots regularly making an appearance at festivals on the feet of stars. We also spotted plenty of pairs of Barbour’s ankle length wellies at festivals like Glastonbury this year, and the Barbour Nimbus Chelsea Welly In Olive/Black are now £49 down from £70.
However, if you want to take a leaf out of the Royals book, the Le Chameau X National Trust collection is the perfect place to pick up some chic and practical wellies for winter. If they’re good enough for Princess Kate, they’re definitely good enough for us!
