The ‘naked dress’ trend has been all over red carpets this year, but GMB presenter Kate Garraway recently showed you can still make it office-ready with her M&S lace blouse
From red carpets to runways, one trend we’ve seen a resurgence of lately is the naked dress. Utilising cut outs, sheer fabrics and carefully placed panelling, celebs have been spotted baring a little more than usual as of late.
But whilst a completely sheer gown is probably best left to the professionals, there is a way that you can incorporate the trend into your everyday wardrobe… and even make it office-appropriate. Kate Garraway recently showed just how easy it is to do when she donned a semi-sheer lace blouse to host Good Morning Britain.

Another great style we’ve spotted on the high street is Next’s Friends Like These Cream Long Sleeve Ruffle Lace Blouse which has been slashed to just £15 from £38. However sizes are selling quickly thanks to its hefty discount, with only sizes 16, 18 and 20 still in stock.
We also love this Leem Pleated Sheer Woven Blouse, which is now on sale down from £110 to £85 at Selfridges. Rather than lace it has a sheer, floaty layer over a slim-fitting bodice which keeps it modest, with a high neck and draped sleeves giving it a boho look.
However, Kate’s Lace Collared Waisted Shirt has been praised by shoppers for its elegant style. One said: “Beautiful quality, fits really well and lovely shape. Gorgeous colour, paired well with a pair of maroon dress trousers. Felt a million dollars in this top!”
Another said: “Size eight rather tight as mentioned by other purchasers. Wore on Valentine’s Day…. Excellent fabric and design.”
The sizing was definitely an issue for most shoppers, who recommended sizing up. One said: “Gorgeous, but the sizing is poor. Had to go up a size,” whilst another agreed: “Loved this but sadly I had to return it because the waist was too small for size 14 and it didn’t hang like the model.”
However another praised: “Nicely made and fits well. Bought a size 8 which fits perfectly although I’m sometimes a size 6.”
