Karen Millen has collaborated with Elizabeth Day, Louise Roe and Sharmadean Reid for a campaign inspired by how your clothes affect your confidence for a ‘life well dressed’
Workwear is one area of our wardrobes that many women struggle with, and trying to strike the balance between something that feels smart and office-appropriate, whilst still being flattering and confidence-boosting can be tricky. Which is why Karen Millen sat down with Elizabeth Day, Louise Roe and Sharmadean Reid for the We Saved You a Seat campaign to discuss the clothes they choose which influence the way they feel in their everyday lives.
The three women picked five pieces from Karen Millen’s new summer collection for the campaign, and the combination of military-inspired tailoring, structured silhouettes and elegant dresses are all great go-tos for your workwear wardrobe. The new collection was designed to empower women of all ages and to give them confidence and purpose both in and out of the office, and were “Designed for a life well-dressed”.

Prices range from £79 to £399 and are available exclusively on Karen Millen’s website, and whilst almost every piece chosen would be great for wearing to work, there’s also a mixture of event and occasionwear items included. Whether you love a tailored trouser or matching suit, a more relaxed fitting midi dress, or a statement jacket, the We Saved You a Seat campaign covers it all.
All three women were picked for their ambitious and creative career paths. Elizabeth Day is an award-winning author, journalist, and broadcaster best known for creating the chart-topping How To Fail podcast and writing Sunday Times bestseller books. Louise Roe is a prominent British fashion journalist, television host, and founder of the homewares brand Sharland, whilst Sharmadean Reid MBE is a British entrepreneur, the founder of WAH Nails and Beautystack.
One of our favourite pieces in the collection include the Compact Stretch Pocket Straight Leg Trousers which were chosen by Louise Roe. These are the perfect does-it-all trousers to have in your wardrobe, whether they’re teamed with a crisp shirt for work, an oversized knit for weekend events or even some heels and a chic top for an event.
From Elizabeth Day’s edit, the Satin Tux Tailored Collarless Cropped Blazer is ideal, bringing a more modern twist on the classic blazer. With its collarless design, cropped length and utility details, it’s another piece that you’ll get plenty of wear out of.
When it comes to Sharmadean Reid’s choices, we love the Linen Belted Woven Maxi Dress which is a must for those hot and humid summer days. With a sleeveless design, relaxed, flowing fit and smart details like pockets and a waist belt, this is a must for heading into the office or even running errands when the temperatures rise.
Boden is another great place to pick up versatile staples, especially if you love print and color. It’s just launched the New Romantics collection, which is full of florals and soft romantic colour palettes perfect for summer.
If you want tailoring on a budget, H&M is another good go-to. There’s plenty of structured silhouettes and flowing fabrics that will bolster your workwear wardrobe, all for an affordable price. However if sophisticated confidence-boosting pieces are what you’re looking for, Karen Millen’s new We Saved You a Seat campaign is available now.
