Sarah Ferguson is continuing to lay low as she plots her next house move as she and former husband, Andrew live out the final weeks at Royal Lodge
As the days count down until she must leave Royal Lodge, the question on everybody’s lips is what will Sarah Ferguson do next. The former Duchess of York has lived with her shamed ex-husband Andrew at the 30-room Windsor mansion for many years – but he’s been forced to give up the home after being stripped of his titles over his association with paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein.
Andrew is being forced to move to a much smaller property on the King’s private Sandringham estate, but Sarah is not believed to be joining him. After she too became embroiled in the Epstein scandal, she has seen her career left in tatters with her publishing career seemingly over with charities dropping her as patron.

Recent reports suggest Fergie, who has suffered problems with debt in the past, is now looking for her own home in the Windsor area, where she can live independently.
And former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond told the Mirror : “Sarah has proved herself to be an extraordinarily resilient person. She has rehabilitated herself in the past, even after behaving so badly, I thought it impossible.
“Could she do it again? I doubt it after the disgrace of her email to Jeffrey Epstein. However, I have never believed that she was broke – at least not in the way most of us understand being broke.
“She must have funds somewhere, so perhaps she does indeed want to stay in the Windsor area, where she has friends. I am not, however, sure that the Royal family would want to risk running into her, so I’m sure they would prefer her to settle further away.”
Over the years since marrying Andrew, Fergie has found herself caught up in several scandals. She was cast from the royals midst amid her “toe-sucking” scandal in the 1990s and fell deeply into debt.
In 2010, she was caught up in the cash-for-access scandal, offering to sell an introduction to her ex-husband for £500,000 to an undercover reporter posing as a businessman. But against the odds, each time, she managed to bounce back and continue to take part in public life.
However, earlier this year, she was dropped by numerous charities when it emerged years later that she wrote to convicted sex offender Epstein, calling him a “supreme friend” despite publicly disowning him in the media.
But for Jennie, another comeback for Sarah this time is probably too far. She explained: “Her latest book is reportedly being pulped, her charities have given her up, her brand is terminally tarnished. She is now almost as toxic as her ex-husband.
“It did seem to me that life in Portugal might suit her tastes well, but it’s a very sensitive situation.”
