Last year Zara McDermott shared her genius Amazon find for staying cool in the garden, and now the inflatable tanning pool is slashed to £35 in the sale
With this weekend set to be another scorching one, we’ll all be planning on spending as much time outdoors in the garden as possible. However even if you don’t intend on doing anything more than lying around, the heat can end up being too much.
Then we remembered one of Zara McDermott’s most brilliant purchases which she shared last year; the Sloosh Inflatable Tanning Pool. The inflatable combines a paddling pool and a sun lounger to create somewhere comfortable to relax whilst still keeping you cool, and it’s currently on sale down to £34.99.
‘Super effective’ portable neck fan is hands-free and keeps you cool on your commute
‘Brilliant’ air cooling fan that keeps homes cool during the heatwave slashed from £150 to £40
You can choose from either a XL pool which is large enough for two people, or a size large which is just the right size for one person, or a couple of kids. The prices do vary depending on which size you get, with the large one reduced from £39.99 to £34.99, whilst the XL one is priced at £49.99, although these prices also vary depending on which colourway you choose.
Last year on her Instagram stories, Zara shared a video showing just how quick and easy it was to set up the inflatable. It can be inflated in minutes – either manually or with an air pump – and then filled with water using a garden hose for a refreshing way to cool off.
While Zara enjoyed using the Sloosh Inflatable Tanning Pool in her back garden, it’s also safe to use on the water, making it a great travel essential. You can use it with or without water inside, and it features a wraparound rope so you can tether it to a boat, dock, or another float—ideal for added safety if you’re heading into the sea.
For extra comfort, it includes an inflatable pillow and two built-in 3″ cup holders, so you can stay hydrated while you relax. Made from durable PVC, it’s tough enough to resist snags or punctures, even on rougher surfaces.
If you do just want a regular pool to cool off in, this Bestway Rectangular 7ft Paddling Pool from Argos is a steal at £20. You can also pick a similar Intex Swim Centre Family Inflatable Pool which measures 2.6 metres long and 1.75 metres wide and is priced £24.49 on Amazon.
Amazon shoppers, however, are raving about Zara’s Sloosh Inflatable Tanning Pool. One wrote: “I love it! It was easy to inflate, I used an electric pump to make it faster. Very comfortable, you can relax in the sun. Finally something that holds air as I have tried many others and ended up returning but this one is really good.”
Someone else agreed: “I just love it. I’m 7ft tall and it fits me just perfectly, and the colour and design look stunning in the sunshine. The ribbed base and pillow give you a perfect level of comfort (I keep falling asleep on it), and the pillow can be removed as well. You can also fill it with water to prevent yourself from getting too hot, and it also has a drainage plug.”
Some weren’t as happy with their order, with one writing: “Considering the price point, this is good but I had to return the first one as it had a hole in it.”
Another chimed in: “I wanted to love this so much. Easy to set up and great cushion but got a hole during our first use.”
Others, however, were thrilled, with one writing: “Easy to pump up lots of room, saves water too,” whilst others agreed: “Love it easy to put up and put away and exactly what I needed as a pool would be too much for me to deal with.”
Finally someone else wrote: “Loved this through the summer, fill with pillows and blankets to read in the sun or fill with water and relax. Easy to use.”
