Shopping writer Lauren loves her new loungewear set for keeping warm and feeling put-together at home
Now that winter has properly set in, I’ve been living in comfy clothes. Pyjamas are great, but they do tend to make me feel a bit lazy, which is why a really good pair of joggers feels essential.
Recently, I added a new pair to my wardrobe, and these are, without question, some of the comfiest trousers I own. The design in question is Boohoo x DSGN joggers, now reduced to £18.75 from £25. I also paired them with the matching long-sleeved T-shirt (£13.50), bringing the price to £32.25 for a full coordinated look.
The trousers are incredibly soft and warm thanks to the fleece inner lining, and the deep dark-chocolate hue screams quiet luxury. While they’re perfect for the sofa, the rich chocolate brown looks expensive enough to wear out.
I’ve been throwing on my long wool trench coat and some chunky white trainers with them, and it looks like a curated ‘clean girl’ aesthetic rather than just rolled-out-of-bed. The fit is spot on too: baggy enough to look chic and intentional, but never constricting, whether I’m watching the telly or padding about the flat in my slippers.
Comfort-wise, the adjustable elasticated waistband is a big win. It’s easy to tighten or loosen depending on the day (much needed over Christmas when I was bloated from one too many Quality Street), and it means the joggers still feel comfortable after hours of wear.

These joggers have a deep waistband for comfort and a flattering wide leg style.
Size-wise, I went for a medium (my usual size) and they fit perfectly. However, they are definitely an oversized fit, so for anyone between sizes or prefer a slimmer silhouette, I’d recommend sizing down
I’ve washed them three or four times now, and they’re still soft and cosy, although they’re definitely not quite as cloud-like as they were straight out of the bag. Still, for under £30, it’s to be expected that the quality isn’t the best.
For anyone who’d prefer something with more longevity, I also recommend Lovall. I have its wide-leg joggers (£50) at home, and they’re still in good condition after a year of wear, give or take a slight bit of pilling around the bum.
Otherwise, Alo is a great pick for quality loungewear. The brand, known for its premium yoga gear, has a range of styles, from bootcut sweatpants to high-waisted designs.
Back to the Boohoo x DSGN set, I also have the matching hoodie, although my size is currently out of stock. However, the brand has several alternatives, including this stylish track jacket (£15 from £20).
Overall, while they might not be ‘forever’ trousers, the Boohoo x DSGN joggers and matching top are a solid win for anyone wanting to upgrade their winter lounging without spending a fortune.
