Kayali has just launched its latest perfume, Boujee Kitty, which is packed with gourmand scents like vanilla, milk and caramel – and it’s perfect for wearing into autumn
The very idea of talking about autumn while we’re heading into yet another heatwave should be blasphemous, but those occasional rainy days we’ve had have already got me looking ahead to the next season. But whilst I’m not quite digging out my knitwear just yet, one thing I am on the lookout for is a perfume to invest in that’ll see me through the rest of the summer and well into autumn.
Whilst summer fragrances are typically light, sweet and floral, autumn scents are always a little richer, warmer and more comforting, which is why the second I smelled Kayali’s new Boujee Kitty perfume, I knew it was the perfect transitional perfume. It’s only just dropped online, and is available in both 10ml and 50ml bottles, priced at £28 and £80 respectively.

As a beauty writer, I’ve tried my fair share of perfumes over the years, and have amassed a pretty impressive collection of scents that I call on for different occasions. I am a die hard Kayali fan, and find their perfumes generally to be really long lasting and powerful, with their gourmand scents a particular favourite of mine.
So when the new Boujee Kitty dropped onto my desk, which promised more sweet, dessert-like notes with a warm, comforting scent, I couldn’t wait to try it. It has an opening scent of salted caramel milk and coconut, with white chocolate and vanilla heart notes. The dry down scent is caramel santal and soft musk, which are perfect for cutting through the sweetness to make it a little more earthy and spicy, rather than sugary and sickly.
There’s no getting around the fact that Boujee Kitty is most definitely on the sweeter side, and at first I wasn’t sure if it was too sugary even for me. However, by the time it had settled on my skin it was much warmer and softer, and felt a little more grown up.
As with most Kayali perfumes, it’s a powerful scent which only requires a couple of spritzes to get a decent scent trail, and it’ll last on your clothes for hours. I will say, though, I found the longevity a little less than some of my other Kayali perfumes, and it required more topping up than Candy Rock or the Yum Boujee Marshmallow which I find last all day.
But whilst both of those are quite light and perfect for summer, the Boujee Kitty is definitely a great perfume for moving through summer and into autumn thanks to its rich, cosy scent. You can also layer it up with other perfumes if you want to create a more unique fragrance, with some great layering options including vanilla, pepper, or even a fruity scent.
Some of my other favourite warm and cosy scents include Yves Saint Laurent’s Black Opium Eau de Parfum Over Red (which I will live and die by as one of my all-time favourites) and Le Monde Gourmand Crème Vanille Eau de Parfum which is great for a more affordable pick. The 30ml bottle of the YSL perfume is currently on sale at Sephora, down from £77 to £61.60, whilst Le Monde Gourmand’s is now just £23.80 (down from £28) for 30ml at LookFantastic.
