The supportive summer sandals are one of Amazon’s bestselling shoes with more than 100,000 five-star reviews

Among my friends and family, there’s a long-running joke that I can be found wearing flip flops whatever the weather. Easy to slip on and off when dashing out the door, and despite being a devoted sandal enthusiast, I’d never bothered investing in a decent pair – until I stumbled across Archies Arch Support Flip Flops.

For years I’d stuck to £2 Primark pairs, never appreciating that spending a little more is absolutely worth it and that I’d been seriously missing out. Jennifer Aniston, Katie Holmes and Kylie Minogue all reportedly own a pair of the flip flops, having been pictured out and about wearing them.

The moment they arrived and I slipped them on, it was immediately obvious why these £35 shoes have amassed over 100,000 five-star reviews from satisfied customers. Archies is an Australian brand, but shoppers can get their hands on the Arch Support Flip Flops via Amazon or through their UK website, available in UK sizes 3 to 14.

I went for the brown colourway, but there are more than 16 shades to choose from, and I’ve already set my sights on lemon and sky blue. Unlike the bog-standard flip flops I’d been accustomed to, Archies feature built-in arch support and a specialised closed-cell foam footbed.

This gradually moulds to the shape of your feet, and after a few wears it feels as though they’ve been custom-made to fit your exact foot size, reports the Liverpool Echo. The straps are fully adjustable, designed to accommodate all foot sizes without causing any rubbing or blisters between the toes, and I can honestly say I’ve walked 10,000 steps in these daily with no foot pain.

Get ready for summer with ‘the best flip flops ever’.

Archies do note that they come up as a snug fit, which I’d echo, so those who are normally a half size should opt for the next size up. As a size 5, I found them to fit like a glove – neither too tight nor loose enough to feel as though they might slip off mid-stride.

Designed by physiotherapists, these are without question the most comfortable flip flops I’ve ever slipped on – and arguably the most stylish, too. The soles of the Archie’s Arch Support Flip Flops are slightly thicker, which promotes optimal foot posture, but I also found it particularly flattering, as the added height does wonders for lengthening the legs.

I’ve yet to put them through their paces on a poolside or beach holiday, but the waterproof construction strikes me as highly practical. Having already worn them on lengthy walks without a hint of foot discomfort, they’d be a brilliant choice for a city break.

They’re pricier than your average flip flop, but in my view, they’re worth every single penny and look set to last for years to come. Before being won over by the Archies Arch Support Flip Flops, I had my eye on these Havaianas Slim Square Toe Flip Flops in brown. Available for £30 from ASOS, their square-toe finish makes for a genuinely on-trend option.

FitFlop is another well-loved brand amongst shoppers, and these Ergonomic Flip Flops are a top seller, with FitFlop claiming that over one million pairs have flown off the shelves. Priced at £32, they come in a range of colours, including metallic finishes and a colour-blocking design.

Personally, Archies Arch Support Flip Flops have firmly stolen my heart as my go-to summer shoe and beyond. Amongst the 120,000 reviews on the brand’s website, one happy customer wrote: “These flip flops are absolutely worth the cost. I have bought three pairs because they are so comfortable.

“My first pair I have had for over 3 years, and they are still as good as new. These flops helped my plantar fasciitis and made walking so much more comfortable.”

A second shopper shared: “I wore them all day the first day and felt like I was walking on a cloud. I didn’t even realise the straps were adjustable until I got them, but they made for a perfect fit. I’m already pondering my next colour.”

They may not be to everyone’s taste, however, as one reviewer noted they were accustomed to ‘much firmer footwear’, explaining that ‘they are not as comfortable as I thought they would be’.

This wasn’t the experience for another customer, who said: “These are honestly the best flip flops I’ve ever worn. They’re very comfortable, mould to your feet and are great quality. They’re very comfortable sizing – I’m a five, and they fit perfectly.

“I walked in these on holiday, and the sole thickness was great. Didn’t feel uncomfortable once. I love the appearance and have now got them in two colours. Best flip flops I’ve ever had.”
