Byron Denton visited the Fox’s Biscuits factory shop and splashed out £11.95 on biscuits – with one particular £1.50 bargain catching the savvy shopper’s eye
A shopper who visited Fox’s Biscuits’ factory has expressed his joy after bagging a £1.50 bargain.
The company was founded as a bakery in West Yorkshire by Michael Spedding in 1853, before his son-in-law, Fred Ellis Fox assumed control in 1897. Today, Fox’s Biscuits stands as one of Britain’s most recognisable confectioners, selling an array of treats including Party Rings, Crunch Creams and Viennese Melts.
Of course, you can grab the sweet treats in supermarkets and various retailers. But were you aware you could obtain them even more affordably by visiting the factory itself?
Byron Denton travelled to the site in Batley to discover whether it’d be worthwhile. He shared his experience in an Instagram clip, commenting: “Apparently you can get big sacks of biscuits for a pound, so let’s go in and see what we can find.”
Entering the factory outlet, he was stunned after quickly spotting one of his beloved snacks – Burton’s Fish and Chips – with multipacks of six retailing for 85p (Burton’s Biscuits and Fox’s Biscuits combined in 2022).
Subsequently, he grabbed a large bag of loose Jammie Dodgers and was astonished by the cost. Byron gasped: “£1.50, are you joking? That’s actually insane.”
White Chocolate Chunk Cookie bags came next at the identical price, restricted to four bags per shopper and household as Byron carried on browsing and loading his basket completely full.
“I spent £11.95 and I’ve got a huge bag,” he triumphantly announced as he left the shop. “I think I found biscuit heaven.”
And in a follow-up clip, Byron confessed: “It’s the tiniest little shop in the world so I did think I was in the wrong area – it does not look like there is a meant to be a shop here, it’s literally just a factory.”
He wrapped up by disclosing that his haul also featured Milk Chocolate Digestives, Chocolatey Salted Caramel Rounds, Chocolatey Indulgent Dubai-Style Pistachio Creams, Milk Chocolate Vanilla Sundaes and Oaties.
In response, one Instagram user gushed: “OMG I love this Factory Shop… go in for a quick look round and leave with three tonnes of biscuits.”
A second quipped: “This is dangerous information for me.” A third concurred: “That’s dangerous! I’d eat them all before I got home.”
Whilst a fourth Instagram user exclaimed: “I am going to have to move 162 miles to this place/heaven.”
