‘My iced lattes stay slushy-cold in hot weather’
The delightful UK heatwave continues. As I write this, it’s currently 30 degrees at my desk, and there are no signs of it cooling down. While I love the heat, something else I enjoy is a cool, refreshing drink.
For years, I’ve been using an insulated Stanley Cup rival to keep my iced coffees and water cold. It’s the Yeti 10oz Rambler Tumbler, a pressie which has surprisingly become a godsend in this hot weather, and I’ve found a way to get it for a much lower price.
World’s away from Stanley’s bottles, which cost up to £45 depending on style and colour, the Yeti costs £20 at Go Outdoors. Using a shopping tip I’ve flagged before for WalesOnline, it can effectively be bought for less than £3 when shopping through TopCashback.
The deals site gives consumers a proportion of their money back when they buy a product through its links. New members who sign up for free will get £21 back on a £15+ spend, as part of the brand’s limited-time birthday bonus which runs until 11.59pm on Sunday night (July 19).
This is what effectively takes the price from £20 to £2.32. The price after cashback includes standard delivery too. The last time I covered the deal, it was £3.83 after cashback, making it now a more affordable time to get the cooling flask.

‘It’s so good that the ice cubes stay whole for a good half an hour,’ was my standout point from my first review of the Tumbler. Made from stainless steel, it’s excellent at keeping drinks cool from within.
This creates a double-walled vacuum to help insulate, as Yeti says, this is what keeps drinks ‘hot or cold until the last drop.’ This is something I can confirm, as I previously highlighted my iced lattes stay ‘slushy-cold’ in really hot weather.
But I’m not the only one. My colleague Ruth Ovens is also a fan of the Yeti, even buying a second one after finding it useful. She said: “It keeps hot drinks warm and cool drinks cold for hours.
“After owning a light blue one for six months and finding it really handy in the car and when walking, my boyfriend kept stealing it when he was travelling for work. So I bought him a new one, in a darker shade.”
As well as its effectiveness in keeping drinks temperatures, another favourite feature of mine is the lid design, which makes it hard to spill. This is thanks to the MagSlider, which helps prevent splashes and closes seamlesly.
For bigger drinks, and more suited to cold water, I also have the Yeti 25oz straw mug, a similar look to Stanley’s classic bottle. This is £38 and comes in a wave of fun colours.
Speaking of Stanley, the rival brand is currently running a sale. This sees the 1913 Quencher drop to £30 at Amazon, which is set to keep drinks cool for up to 48 hours.
Alternatively, this travel mug has dropped to £6 at Argos. It’s also made from stainless steel, and while it’s bigger to carry around than the Yeti, it’ll still regulates drink temperatures.
Over at Amazon, users of the Yeti Rambler also praised its temperature control. As one person said: “It keeps my coffee piping hot through long work shifts and my water cold all day without needing ice refills.
“The size is just right for car cup holders, and it’s easy to clean since it’s dishwasher safe.”
Another shopper said: “Really good, looks and feels great. I thought it would be spill-proof, which it is not. I have a Yeti with a screw lid, which is spill-proof but can be tricky to open, especially with wet hands.”
Another user also shared they had problems with drinks spilling out, even though I personally have not. They said: “The slider that you move to drink from the cup isn’t leak-proof. The slider doesn’t seal the cup.”
