My new favourite lip liner, a perfume I’ve been desperate to try and skincare goodies for less than £9 seemed almost too good to be true
I got the chance to try out an OK! Beauty Box worth over £95 and it can be snapped up for as little as £8.99. The Effortless Everyday Edit has six treats inside and four of them are full size.
When I saw what was inside the latest OK! Beauty Box I jumped at the chance to try it in particular because of the perfume addition: Commodity’s Milk Orchid. As the team’s perfume expert I spend countless hours a week on FragranceTok and keeping up with the latest scents from big-name brands.
Milk Orchid was co-created by @Perfumerism who has been on the hunt for the perfect lactonic fragrance before deciding she would make her own. As someone who loves the original Milk by Commodity (£140 for 100ml), Heavy Cream by Phlur (£26 for 88ml) and Freedom Musk Matcha | 45 by Kayali (£28 for 10ml), I’ve been incredibly curious about Milk Orchid.
Milk Orchid is made up from a number of milky notes including fig milk, macadamia milk and coconut cream alongside vanilla and cotton. It’s a delicate floral gourmand and I loved it as soon as I spritzed it on.
I was a little nervous that it might be too creamy during the heatwave and better suited for the cooler months but I’d worried for nothing. It’s such a great milky scent, the bottle is a sample size but it’s made me feel much more confident about ordering a 10ml bottle.

While the perfume had been a huge draw for me, my favourite item is a toss up between the Delilah Lip Line Long Wear Retractable Lip Pencil and the Warda Luxury Skincare Hyaluronic Acid Hydration Boost Oil Serum.
I have skin that’s quite prone to dryness so I often find myself reaching for hyaluronic acid. This one feels lovely on my skin and has kept my face hydrated even when other parts of my body are proving to be on the dryer side.
The lip liner is the type that users can twist up which is great for those who have a tendency to misplace their pencil sharpeners. I found the shade works on me as a nice nude tone and it comes with a sharpener at the base.
I pulled together an easy makeup look with Glow Recipe’s Watermelon Glow Niacinamide Hue Drops Tinted Serum (£32), bareMinerals Gen Nude Dew In One Cheek & Lip Stick in Just Peachy and the lip products from this box. I finished up with the Beauty Crop PoreFilter Pore Blurring Mattifying Makeup Setting Spray and I love the size. It’s ideal for throwing in a carry on bag for a trip away.
I will say that the tinted lip balm is pinker than I would usually gravitate towards, but for an £8.99 box it’s completely worth the gamble. I have got some use out of it but wouldn’t consider it a loss if my sister uses it – as long as I can keep the liner, serum and perfume.
For those who are already subscribed to OK! Beauty Box it will be £15 for the Effortless Everyday Edit. Each bundle is always worth at least £80 which makes it pretty good value in my opinion. It’s also a good way of stocking up on gifts for loved ones.
