Squeeze into work-ready comfort this summer with these smart, breathable 25 pound office-approved shoes that shoppers say make walking pain-free

Open-toed sandals are a perfect option for a day at the beach or a stroll in the park, but they’re far from ideal when you’ve got a commute to tackle. With yet another heatwave set to sweep across Britain, plenty of workers will be dreading having to squeeze into proper shoes throughout the working week.

Fortunately, Clarks has come up with a pair of sandals that are stylish enough to wear to the office as well as other semi-formal occasions. Better still, they bear a striking resemblance to a pair of Skechers that will set you back nearly £60.

The Solevana Jane sandals in white were originally priced at £55 but have been slashed to better than half price in Clarks’ summer sale, available to shop in full here. This brings the total down to just £25, representing a saving of £30.

The Solevana Jane sandals are available in sizes three to nine, with select half sizes also on offer. Shoppers can additionally snap up the shoes in black or navy, both of which are priced at £55.

Clarks also offers the sandals in a gorgeous mauve colourway, currently on sale for £26 down from £55. While not entirely identical, the silhouette bears a remarkably close resemblance to Skechers’ Black Bedford Trainers, sold at Next for £59, reports the Manchester Evening News.

A welcome newcomer to Clarks’ much-loved Cloudsteppers collection, the shoes are crafted to revive and rejuvenate feet with every step. Built for all-day comfort and effortless style, they’re designed to suit everyone – from those constantly on their feet to comfort lovers who simply won’t settle for less.

Breathable uppers keep feet cool and fresh, while Clarks’ signature toe-box fit gives toes the freedom to move naturally. Whether you’re strolling, rushing, or on your feet all day long, the ultra-light foam outsole absorbs impact and helps propel you forward with every stride.

The Black Bedford Trainers, meanwhile, marry a classic, Mary Jane-inspired scalloped design with contemporary, laceless comfort. The Stretch Fit Design delivers a flexible, sock-like feel, while the brand’s exclusive Heel Pillow keeps your foot firmly in place — no bending down required to pull them on.

Elsewhere, Marks and Spencer’s Buckle Flat Mary Jane Ballet Pumps are priced at £40. The pumps showcase a crochet-style design for a beautifully textured finish.

They sit on a flat heel for all-day comfort and fasten securely with a buckle strap, while the gold-tone hardware adds a stylish final flourish.

For those with a little more to spend, the Merrell Relay Tour Mary Jane Shoes are available for £75 at Urban Outfitters. Crafted with a premium leather and textile upper, the low-profile trainers feature a touch strap fastening, round toe, removable EVA foam footbed and rubber sole.

Back at Clarks, the Solevana Jane sandals have already earned a glowing early review, which reads: “Best shoe for comfort.

“As l suffer with my feet, l can now walk without having to stop. Thank you, will be buying other colours.”

Given that the shoes feature a fabric upper, though, they may pick up dirt, scuffs and stains more readily. They’re also not waterproof, which means they’re not the best option for potentially wet days.

That said, the Solevana Jane sandals are a solid pick for anyone after a smart yet sporty pair of sandals suitable for most office environments. Get them for £25 here.
