A police cordon is in place on a Bournemouth beach after a woman was raped.
An investigation has been launched following a report that the victim was targeted on Boscombe Beach in the town.
Dorset Police was told that a man had raped a woman at around 10pm on Thursday night. Officers could be seen examining ground at the waterfront and across the sand as the investigation continued today.

The force confirmed no arrests have been made in connection with the incident. It said: “We received a report that a man had raped a woman on Boscombe beach at around 10pm on Thursday 7 May 2026.
“An investigation is underway and detectives are speaking with the victim to provide support and establish the full circumstances of the incident.
“A cordon has been put in place to allow for enquiries to be carried out. There will be an increased police presence in the area as the investigation continues. No arrests have been made.”
