‘Such a fantastic watch for a fraction of the price’
For those who want to keep an eye on their steps, sleep, or schedule, smartwatches make it easier to stay organised and active without constantly reaching for a phone. Picking up one of these wrist-worn gadgets doesn’t have to be expensive either – there are models on the market for all budgets and requirements.
One smartwatch on the more affordable end is the Huawei Watch Fit 3, currently available at Amazon for £68.99. That’s 30% off the usual price of £99, the site says.
The watch – which is compatible with both Android and iOS devices – has a wide range of health features, with a GPS system for tracking exercise across more than 100 workout modes. There are built-in apps for monitoring a range of metrics too, including heart rate, blood oxygen level (Sp02), menstrual cycle, sleep, and daily steps.

According to Huawei, the 400mAh watch battery lasts up to 10 days, although with typical usage, it’ll be closer to a week. In any case, it won’t need charging anywhere near as often as a phone.
In terms of its build, the Watch Fit 3 smartwatch pairs an ultra-slim 9.9mm build with a bright, square 1.82-inch display that uses AMOLED – a type of screen that often offers better contrast, more vibrant colours, and improved visibility in bright sunlight.

For a more expensive option, shoppers could consider the Samsung Galaxy Watch8 44mm Smart Watch, available from Argos for £349. The brand says this has ‘the latest Samsung Health features and AI smarts from Google Gemini to enhance (users’) lifestyle’, and it has a lightweight, cushioned design to ensure comfort throughout the day and night.
Those with more to spend could also consider an Apple Watch SE from Currys for £149, with £30 off the £179 full price at the moment. This capable smartwatch can handle everything from fitness and health tracking to music streaming and phone calls, although it’s only compatible with iOS devices, not Android.
Many users are thrilled with their Huawei Watch Fit 3 purchase, and the watch holds a 4.5 out of five rating on Amazon, with more than 3,100 reviews. One review said: “Such a fantastic watch for a fraction of the price. Battery life is insane, lasts weeks!
“Does everything it needs to do, and has the added extras of customising the watch display with whatever you want! The app is easy to use as well. I don’t think I will go back to other smartwatch brands that cost so much money and do not have even half the battery life this watch has.”
Another pleased buyer commented: “This smartwatch surpassed my expectations, it’s really good. The app has many applications that I regularly use. The battery lasts on average four to five days before a recharge is needed. The strap is comfortable and is nice and light to wear, and you can also buy a protective case for it.”
A third added: “Great watch with heart rate and exercise monitoring, and the battery lasts for ages. I charge it once a week because that’s easy to remember.”
One customer left four stars and mentioned the calorie tracking, saying: “Bought it 18 months back and it is still running like new. I was crazy about it in the beginning, but with time I lost interest in it. The calorie measurement seems off when I test it with an Apple Watch. It looks very much like an Apple Watch, and I would recommend it for anyone on a budget.”
Another liked the watch, but did find it a little hard to use. They said: “My first fitness tracker. I would like the screens to be a little more intuitive. Everything seems to have worked perfectly, and it does everything I want, at seemingly better value than the Apple equivalent. Looks very smart with lots of different visual screen options, perhaps too many. Love the grey nylon wristband.”
