While Margot Robbie stunned at the premiere of ‘Wuthering Heights’ wearing a £6.4m necklace, it’s her press tour hair that’s captured the hearts of fans who are eager to copy the signature look
Fans have been filling Bryce Scarlett, Margot Robbie’s hairstylist’s, Instagram comments with pleas for a tutorial on how to create Margot’s signature ‘Wuthering Heights’ wavy hair, which has been hailed as “perfection” by fans. Though Bryce hasn’t revealed what tools and techniques he uses to create the look, there are plenty of hair stylers out there that fans can get their hands on to create Margot’s waves.
In the press tour for the upcoming film, Margot swapped Barbie for Old Hollywood at the premiere, wearing a £6.4million necklace once gifted to Elizabeth Taylor by Richard Burton.

The actress, 35, who plays the lead, Catherine Earnshaw, in a steamy adaptation of Emily Brontë’s Wuthering Heights, wore the glitzy pendant with a red-and-black Schiaparelli gown at the LA launch.
The heart-shaped Taj Mahal diamond set in a Cartier necklace was given to Cleopatra star Elizabeth by the Welsh actor on her 40th birthday in 1972, during the first of their two marriages.
The pendant, which dates back to 16th-century India and is mounted in jade with a gold, ruby, and diamond chain, is inscribed with the words “love is everlasting” in Parsee.
Burton said at the time: “I would have liked to buy her the Taj Mahal, but it would cost too much to transport. This diamond has so many carats, it’s almost a turnip.” The piece sold for $8.8million (£6.4million) in 2011 as part of a sale of Taylor’s jewels following her death that year.
Fans eager to get her red carpet look should take note, as her hairstylist did reveal two affordable products he used to keep her elegant low bun in place: the Schwarzkopf Professional BLONDME Bond Repair Sealing Balm (£12.84) and the Schwarzkopf Osis Plus Dust It (£9.99).
But it’s Margot’s modern mermaid waves that are stealing the show, and there’s plenty of stylers available to help fans recreate the look at home.
Celebrity hairstylist and Bellissima Ambassador Alicia Dobson has shared her top tips on how to create Margot’s wavy locks for yourself, saying: “The key to this look is movement without stiffness,” Alicia explains. “You want the waves to feel soft, lived-in and romantic, not over-styled.”
Alicia recommends the Bellissima Beach Wave Curler 2-in-1, which promises to deliver soft, romantic, and effortlessly undone waves that fans are excited to copy. Alicia explains: “Designed to do it all, this clever styler lets you switch between relaxed, beachy waves and glamorous, defined curls in seconds. With just one click, the innovative rotating ceramic plates transform your look-no technique stress, just dreamy results every time.” For a full review of the 2-in-1 styler, click here.
Available on Amazon (though stock is quickly diminishing) or directly from Bellissima, this hair styler normally costs £89.99, but right now it’s up for grabs for £39.99, saving shoppers £50.
A similar styler that could be used to create Margot’s loose waves is the BaByliss Deep Waves Hair Waver (£34.95), a device praised as “easy to use” and delivering “gorgeous, effortless waves in just a few minutes”, according to one 5-star reviewer.
Perfect for creating waves that “look like you’ve just come from the salon”, this BaByliss device features ceramic barrel-shaped plates that deliver a beach wave in a matter of seconds. Utilising Ionic technology that reduces static and frizz, this styler is set to leave locks smoother, shinier, and with a Margot-inspired finish.
For those who don’t mind splashing out a bit more and fancy more curls than waves, check out this Gamma+ Rainbow Bubble Curling Wand (£64.55), which bears a unique shape that creates tighter, smoother curls. The unique shape and length of the ball allow for the “most stunning curls”, delivering more volume at the root and a softer wave to the tips.
Though suitable for all hair types, this styler is ideal for those with longer hair. It’s also not best suited to those who struggle to hold a curling iron for a prolonged period of time, as thanks to its unique design, this styler could be a bit finicky in the hands of a novice.
