People were surprised to see that the well-known cereal giant’s brand was attached to this kind of food item
Kellogg’s has a new product on the shelves at Home Bargains – but you probably wouldn’t eat it for breakfast. The discount store stocks three flavours of the latest creations from the minds behind Corn Flakes, Coco Pops and Frosties.
Shoppers spotted the Kellogg’s product in stores this week and were “perplexed” to see the brand on this kind of food – instant noodles. People can pick up the noodles in three different flavours – curry chicken, special chicken, and vegetarian.
Each pack contains five servings and costs £1.50. They’re suitable for cooking in the microwave and claim to be quick enough to whip up ‘within minutes’.
It’s not entirely strange for Kellogg’s to produce these noodles, however, despite being a brand that primarily sells cereal. According to its website, more noodle flavours exist in other parts of the world, and they’ve been available elsewhere since 2018.
That said, it didn’t stop Brits from being “perplexed” when they saw them for the first time. Replying to an Instagram post about the noodles, one joked: “Noodles for breakfast, anyone?”
Another added: “I was intrigued so I bought them. My kids said they were the best noodles they had tried!” A third wrote: “The chicken ones are so nice!” Someone else commented: “I picked up the veggie ones today and they taste lovely. Hopefully they don’t disappear from shops!”
A statement on Kellogg’s website about the noodles reads: “Presenting the delicious range of Kellogg’s Instant Noodles with the goodness of grains, great taste and high in energy. It is fortified with essential B vitamins, which keep you ‘active’ and ‘alert’ throughout the day.
“A convenient and easy meal to prepare, it can be consumed at any time of the day. Kellogg’s Instant Noodles can help you feel energised and leave a sensational taste on the pallet. It is available in chicken, beef, cheese, durban curry and vegetable curry. Taste the difference with Kellogg’s Instant Noodles!”
In other Home Bargains news, shoppers have been racing to their nearest store to find a £3.49 ‘little pot of joy’ that helps you ‘effortlessly fall asleep’. The Sanctuary Spa’s Sleep Balm costs less than £4 at the discount store – but is selling elsewhere for £15, which means shoppers could make a saving of almost £12.
The store also went viral on social media with its latest garden decoration, which has sold out fast. These solar-powered hot air balloon lights are set to appear in lots of gardens this summer, but they can also be found in other stores like Asda, B&M, and The Range for under £5.
