Make-up brand Nyx, which has been used by Holly Willoughy in the past, has launched a number of festive gift sets and products that are perfect stocking fillers and secret santa presents
When on the hunt for make-up brands that are as affordable as they are good quality, it oftens comes with a lot of trial and error. But when a brand has been backed by celebrities and their make-up artists, there’s a bit more gravity behind its claims regarding quality. And one brand with some great results is NYX, which is loved by television icon Holly Willoughby’s make up artist, reportedly, who has previously used the NYX Professional Makeup Worth the Hype Waterproof Mascara on the star.
With Christmas on the horizon, the brand has recently launched its festive gift sets covering eyeshadows, lip kits, liners and more. All come packaged in a gingerbread house themed box – as part of the brand’s Gingerbaddie Land – and the kits starts at £12.05.
Alongside these sets, NYX has also launched some festive products, such as its Holiday Gum Drop Christmas Lip Gloss, which retails at £10.99, its Holiday Candy Swirl Christmas Eyeliner, and more. Despite just launching, the Christmas Lip Gloss , which comes in three colours, has received a glistening review in which one shopper has called it the ‘best ever’ lipgloss.
The shopper, who specified she was in her early 60s, said: “I am in my early 60s. I have been on the hunt forever to find a lip gloss lipstick or lip stain that actually stays on your lips. I spent unbelievable amounts of money trying to find just the right product never ever ever have I found a lip stain that actually does what it says 100% the best product I ever used.”
She only had one gripe: “My only suggestion… is I just wish they had more lighter colours as the colours seem to be very dark, but I found one shade and I will use it forever. I actually went back today and purchased three more. NYX. Please please make some lighter colours.”

NYX has recently launched a series of Christmas kits and products that are perfect for gifting.
As for its gift sets, they range from an eyeshadow palette and bronzing duo, to lip kits made up of either lip gloss or lip balm. For example, its limited edition Holiday Fat Gingerbread House – Lip Makeup Set contains seven lip products ranging from glosses to balm, neatly packaged in a bundle that looks perfect without the need for wrapping paper.
For those who are die-hard lip gloss fans, the brand’s Holiday Butter Gloss Vault contains ten different coloured lip glosses (including one clear) which claim to be ‘non-sticky’ and ‘buttery-smooth’ for that ultimate festive pout.
Elsewhere, NYX’s Holiday Gingerbaddie Palette is packed with ten eye shadows of differing finishes – rich mattes, dazzling shimmers and, of course, metallics – perfect for the Christmas season. The colours included are earthy and range from ‘gingerbread browns, golden caramels, cranberries, cinnamon reds’, which would make for the perfect natural look or even a smokey eye.
The highly pigmented eyeshadows have a ‘buttery-smooth’ formula that boasts a ‘long-wearing’ quality, which is of the utmost importance for party season.
As it’s newly launched at NYX, there is only one review for this set that is certainly glowing. Describing the gift set as a ‘nice holiday palette’, the five star reviewer wrote: “Love the colours and the way they make my eyes look. They blend together well.”
For those who aren’t too bothered by the festive packaging, Charlotte Tilbury’s Charlotte’s Palette of Beautifying Eye Trends has a similar set of shades at £49 with its ‘Sensual Sunset’ palette, but it also comes in five other colour combinations for those who want a different look. For example Denim Dimension has blues and silvers, which may better suit those with blue eyes or with more icy-styled outfits.
Alternatively, P.Louise’s On The Pull Christmas Eyeshadow Palette, £15, has a selection of seasonal eyeshadows in eight ‘dreamy’ shades as well as one glitter topper.
For those who’d rather try out some makeup on their face before committing to purchasing a product, the brand has introduced a new virtual beauty tool that allows its fans to virtually try on say a lipstick, eyeshadow or bronzer. All shoppers need to do it upload a selfie or use the live mode in the ‘virtual try on’ tool and see results almost instantly. Although ensure to have good, natural lighting to get the best match.
This new festive launch from NYX comes off the back of its recent Bridgerton-inspired make-up collection, which includes a Royal ‘Wallflower’ Blush Palette, Royal Highlighter, Ink Liner and Butter Gloss.
