Home Bargains is selling a ‘fun and safe’ item that’s ‘easy to set up and store away’
With more warm weather on the way, animal lovers are looking for inventive ways to keep their pets entertained without getting too hot. For water-loving pets, Home Bargains might have just the solution.
The high street store is stocking a pet-sized paddling pool. Priced at £5.99, the My Pets Pet Paddling Pool is available in one size. Designed for use in gardens, the product is said to be ‘super easy to set up and store away.’ It also boasts a ‘shallow’ design to help keep pets safe.
The product description states: “Make a splash this summer with the My Pets Pet Paddling Pool! This fun, foldable blue pool is perfect for keeping your furry friends cool and entertained, and it’s super easy to set up and store away when the fun’s done!
“A pet paddling pool is a small, shallow pool designed for pets such as dogs or cats to cool off and play in during hot weather. Pet owners can fill the pool with water to create a fun and safe environment for their pets to enjoy.
“Regular supervision is recommended to ensure the safety of pets while they are in the pool. After use, the pool can be emptied and cleaned for future use.”
Alternatively, Home Bargains sells a £4.99 MyPets Summer Pet Sprinkler. The description says: “Make playtime a splash with the MyPets Summer Pet Sprinkler! This simple yet fun sprinkler will keep your furry friends cool and entertained all summer long. Pet sprinkler pads are designed to keep your furry friends cool and entertained during the summer months.”
For pets who don’t like water but love getting out in the sunshine, there’s also the £12.99 My Pets Summer Pet Canopy Bed. Home Bargains says: “Keep your dog cool and comfortable with the My Pets Summer Pet Canopy Bed — the perfect outdoor resting spot for sunny days.
“This elevated bed is made with 100% polyester fabric, offering a strong, breathable surface that helps keep your pet cool. The raised design allows air to flow underneath, reducing heat buildup and keeping your dog off hot ground.”
While pets often love lounging in the sun, it’s important to ensure they stay cool. The RSPCA says animal lovers can help keep their pets safe by ensuring they have shade, giving them constant access to fresh water, and using pet-safe sun cream on their exposed skin.
Pet owners are also warned that there’s an increased risk of fleas, ticks, and flystrike during the summer. Animal owners can find more information on the RSPCA website.
