The parks in Norfolk and Essex have upped the fun factor with escape rooms, high-ropes, and off-road vehicles
This March, the British seaside holiday is getting a major upgrade as Parkdean Resorts officially reopens two of its best-loved destinations – Vauxhall Holiday Park in Norfolk and Highfield Grange in Essex. Following an extensive £10 million transformation, both parks are set to offer a “Bigger, Better, Bolder” experience just in time for the Easter break.
The multi-million-pound makeovers are focused on delivering a fresh holiday experience that blends high-tech adventure with reimagined family comforts, ensuring that every age group, from toddlers to grandparents, finds something to love on their next staycation.
All this upgraded family fun doesn’t haven’t to cost a fortune either, with breaks starting from £112 in April. School holiday deals also represent excellent value for money, with prices from a four-night stay at Vauxhall Holiday Park starting from £149, working out at just £37 per person.
The improvements to the parks include a range of activities designed to keep the excitement going regardless of what the Great British weather throws at us. Thrill-seekers can now tackle brand-new high and low ropes courses, while the Bear Grylls Escape Rooms offer a unique survival-themed challenge for families and friends to solve together.
For younger explorers, the “Off-Road Rangers” track and new “Tots Safe Zones” provide dedicated spaces for play. Elsewhere, the new Hat Tricks Sports Bar serves as a social hub for adults and teens with interactive darts, shuffleboard, and indoor golf, as well as stylish new outdoor dining terraces for al fresco meals.

Vauxhall Holiday Park in Norfolk and Highfield Grange in Essex have both undergone an extensive £10 million transformation.
This £10 million transformation isn’t just about new activities; it represents a complete reimagining of the park experience. Upgraded facilities and a host of fresh dining options, such as Thunderbird Fried Chicken and Scoops Ice Cream parlours, ensure that the quality of the stay matches the excitement of the entertainment.
With the grand re-openings scheduled for March, the parks are ready to welcome those planning last-minute Easter escapes or organising their big summer family getaways. Both parks are located close local beaches to ensure a healthy dose of seaside fun.
Highfield Grange is situated just a 10-minute drive from Clacton Beach with it’s Pier and amusements, while the nearby town of Frinton-on-Sea offers a quaint, escape with Victorian charm and boutique shops. Alternatively, Vauxhall Holiday Park is just minutes from Great Yarmouth’s lively promenade.
For guests looking to head out a little further, the nearby Norfolk Broads are a short drive away. A further development for the 2026 season is the introduction of an all-inclusive option at 42 of its UK parks for selected dates across the year.
Prices begin at £25 per adult per day and £10 per child, with four-night midweek all-inclusive breaks proving especially appealing for both couples and families. The all-inclusive offering covers three full meals daily – breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Unlimited Costa Coffee and soft drinks are provided throughout the visit, allowing guests to relax and indulge knowing that the cost is covered. For those who can’t find the right break with Parkdean Resorts, Haven has also unveiled its 2026 deals, with basic three-night caravan stays starting from just £49.
Over at Forest Holidays, outdoor enthusiasts can save up to £60 on a log cabin escape across 13 UK locations, or up to £150 on week-long stays.
Visitors to both parks have shared their experiences online, with many five-star reviews to be found. One delighted visitor to Highfields Grange said: “We’ve had a lovely week away. The entertainment staff have been amazing. Great shows, brilliant interaction with the kids. Becky, Ricky and all the entertainers… can’t fault them.”
Another added: “Amazing holiday kids has so much much perfect location. The night entertainment was amazing.”
Over at Vauxhall Holiday Park, one reviewer called it a “special place” explaining: “It was our first holiday of this kind, but we felt wonderful. The caravan was clean, spacious and warm, the beds comfortable. We went with our five-year old grandson, who enjoyed a lot of activities, many interactive, in which we, the grandparents, also found a place. “
Not all guests were quite so impressed, however. One said that “the caravan was OK but not clean” while another noted: “Caravan was 100%. Perfect. Modern, clean, comfortable, but the whole pool area let everything down. Dirty, unattractive, changing rooms door did not lock.”
Overall, most staycationers enjoy a traditional seaside caravan break at both of the parks, even before the improvements have been made. One returning visitor said: “Went on holiday here in August, loved every minute and worth every penny. Definitely will be going again, great facilities from the arcade to the bar, from the pool to the restaurant and excellent staff all around.”
