The man accused of carrying out an antisemitic terror attack in Golders Green had reportedly been referred to the Government’s counter-extremism Prevent programme – this is a breaking story
The man suspected of stabbing two men in Golders Green is understood to have previously been referred to the Government’s counter-extremism Prevent programme.
The 45-year-old suspect had been referred to the multi-agency programme that places a legal duty on public bodies to identify people who may turn to extremism, according to the BBC.
Counter-terror officers working on the programme collaborate with local authority partners and community organisations to help identify and support vulnerable people. If a person is assessed as being at risk of terrorism, they may be referred to Home Office’s Channel Programme.
