The ‘sneakerina’ footwear is a hybrid between ballet pumps and trainers, with Georgia Toffolo joining the likes of Michelle Keegan as a fan of this spring’s top trending shoes
They may well be the most divisive footwear since Crocs, but a pair of ballet pump-style trainers have become this season’s must-have shoes. Michelle Keegan has already showed off her love of the style with a pair of Adidas Samba Janes, and now Georgia Toffolo has joined the list of celebrity fans.
Showing off her white pair with black stripes, Georgia said: “I just know these are going to get so much wear. What’s everyone’s stand point on these? I for one love!” She also did a poll with her followers asking whether they loved them or hated them, and the results were definitely surprising.

According to Georgia’s poll, 67% of her followers were “not a fan” of the shoes, however it seems they’re still proving incredibly popular with the rest of the UK. The white pair worn by Georgia have now completely sold out in all sizes smaller than an 8.5 on almost every single website we could find.
However, don’t despair if you are a converted fan of the Adidas Samba Janes because there are plenty of other colourways available, including a white pair with hunter green stripes which have a cool, classic look. Priced at £80, you can also pick them up in gold, baby blue, navy blue, burgundy or black, so you can nab a pair that you know you’ll wear again and again.
They might be divisive, but the Adidas Samba Janes are actually incredibly easy to wear, and give you the perfect combination of sporty, comfortable and smart. They’re great for times when you want to look a little dressier than a pair of trainers, but don’t want to compromise on comfort, and are the perfect pick for everything from running errands to sightseeing on holiday.
If the Mary Jane style of the Adidas pair isn’t quite for you, there are plenty of other variations from some of our favourite footwear brands around right now. At Schuh, the PUMA Speedcat Ballet trainers are currently £49.99 down from £80 and feature multiple elasticated straps over the arches, rather than the velcro fastening of the Adidas pair.
Meanwhile at UGG, the Women’s Quill Ballet Trainer is £130 and comes in four different colours, including tan and red. For a more budget-friendly pick, we also love these Stradivarius Sports Leather Ballet Flats which you can pick up at ASOS for just £39.99. Despite their affordable price tag, they’re still made from real leather with a suede finish and come in a neutral tan colour that’s easy to pair with anything.
