Sephora shoppers are raving over a ‘heavenly’ fragrance that’s been described as the ‘classiest body spray’ one shopper has ever bought. The Kayali Vanilla 28 All Over Body Spray would usually cost £39 but has dropped down to £27.30 at Sephora.
The scent is inspired by the brand’s layering cult classic Vanilla 28, which famously went through 28 iterations before becoming what it is today. While the perfume can cost £110 for a 100ml bottle, the body spray lets shoppers get the same fragrance at a more affordable price point.
On the Kayali website the body spray is said to be made of five notes: vanilla orchid, sweet tonka, brown sugar, amber woods and musk. This makes it less floral than the original although it remains very popular with fans of the perfume.

This is a great option for fans of Phlur’s Vanilla Skin who want something a little warmer with less spice. Vanilla Skin comes in two sizes as a body spray at Space NK: 88ml for £26 and 237ml for £39.
For those who want something a little more budget friendly Billie Eilish’s original perfume Eilish has also been reimagined as a body spray (£14, Boots). This is a warm vanilla scent but is notably a little spicier than both Kayali and Phlur and has a cocoa note that elevates it.

Kayali’s bestselling vanilla scent was reborn as a more budget friendly body spray
Back at Sephora, the Kayali body spray has pulled in an average rating of 4.4 out of 5 from across 430 reviews. One shopper wrote: “Heavenly smell. Had my eye on this for a while so was lovely to get it at a good price, it does not disappoint it smells absolutely amazing will enjoy layering it with vanilla lotions and fragrances.”
Another shopper said it’s ‘great’ for people who want a lighter version of the perfume, saying: “This is a great addition for people who love Vanilla 28 like me and people who want a lighter version of it. The aerosol can is a nice feature to get a continuous even application. It’s perfect for layering scents.”
It was also called a ‘must’ for vanilla fans in this review: “If you love vanilla this is a must. It’s a beautiful rich vanilla scent that is sophisticated and sweet. With notes of brown sugar, tonka bean, and amber. lt’s sweet but not overpowering highly recommend as it also lasts for hours.”
There have been a few customers who complained that the nozzle fell off when the spray arrived, which did in fact happen to our team fragrance expert Jada Jones also. Jada said: “When I first got this the nozzle came off when I opened it, I was assured that this was a result of reckless handling from the delivery driver but it was easy enough to reattach.
“This is a lovely body spray that layers perfectly over any sweet scent, or adds a touch of vanilla to any fragrance. The bottle is quite sturdy when thrown in a bag and I’ve not experienced any leaks – which is something I’ve seen with plastic bottles.”
One shopper did say the top of their fragrance had popped off at first but still found it the ‘classiest’ body spray that they own. They stated: “Oh my I’m so in love with this. This is truly the most classiest body spray I’ve ever bought.
“Yes, the top popped off but it can easily be placed back on. This is beautiful a bit stronger than the perfume I but I love it.”
