With Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson reportedly in talks to vacate the Royal Lodge , fears have started to grow that the disgraced former Duke and Duchess might “go rogue” and start airing secrets of the royal family if they are exiled from royal life.
Insiders believe that while Andrew is unlikely to “do a Harry” and start exposing confidential Palace information, the same cannot be said for his ex-wife Fergie. With Sarah Ferguson known for accepting lucrative deals with various brands and publishers in order to fund her lavish lifestyle, some royal circles are growing concerned that she could pen an explosive memoir about her time in the Firm.

According to The Sun, Sarah held “exploratory talks” with a string of publishers who are keen for her to pen her first memoir in nearly fifteen years. The talks were reportedly held during the summer – before her 2011 email to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein resurfaced.
Her discussions with publishers are believed to be for a “life lessons” book rather than a “Spare-style” tell-all memoir. However, sources said that if a new book were to be written, Fergie “would not be able to write” Andrew out as “he is an important part of her life”
A friend of Fergie’s told the publication: “A lot has happened since her last memoir almost twenty years ago such as having cancer twice and becoming a grandparent. It is not designed to exonerate Andrew but obviously she would not be able to write him out of it as he is an important part of her life. She couldn’t write a memoir without him being in it.”
Sarah released her first biography, titled My Story, in 1996 which gave a first-hand account of time as a member of the royal family, breakdown of marriage to Prince Andrew and media scrutiny.
Then in 2011, she released her second memoir titled Finding Sarah, in which she wrote about her financial battles and personal struggles. Fergie’s friend said that while Sarah has had a string of meetings with publishers, nothing has been written or agreed.
While there is the possibility Fergie may release a memoir, Prince Andrew is unlikely to start airing royal secrets, as a source told The Sun: “Andrew won’t write a book like Spare. He has promised the King.”
Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson recently announced they would be relinquishing the use of their royal titles – including the Duke and Duchess of York – as a statement claimed the continued accusations against them and their relationship to Epstein continues to “distract” from the work of the royal family.
Andrew had long been connected to Epstein through years of scandals and accusations, which he has vehemently denied. Sarah Ferguson’s friendship to the billionaire paedophile was uncovered more recently, when an email sent from Fergie to Epstein in 2011 resurfaced.
In the correspondence, Fergie referred to Epstein as a “steadfast and supreme friend”, despite his convictions for child sex abuse and her public denouncement of the late financier.
As discussions continue on the fallout of Andrew and Fergie’s Epstein connections, Andrew is said to be in talks with the King’s aides about finally vacating the Royal Lodge in Windsor.
