While the kids are off in February money can soon start to add up, so here’s a handy list of all the freebies you can get while dining out with the family this half term
As we enter February half term, families are looking out for the best deals to save some cash, and it turns out a lot of restaurants have got just the thing – delicious deals.
As of February 16, most kids across the UK are off for a week and head back to school on February 23. It’s this period of time you want to keep your eyes peeled for deals – from pizzas to breakfast, steakhouses and cafes, there’s a whole range of places offering unmissable discounts.
Many supermarkets, restaurants and other eateries have teamed up to take off some of the load this half term by offering a ‘kids eat free’ deal.
Some are offering the chance for little ones to dine for as little as £1, and others are just offering sizeable discounts on an already pricey day out.
Angus Steakhouse
A popular spot for a steak night, Angus Steakhouse is offering for children under eight to dine out at its restaurants and enjoy a complimentary meal. The free meal from the kids’ menu must be ordered alongside a full-paying adult.
The deal is available every day of the week from 12pm up until 5pm. Along with their meal, they can enjoy an activity sheet and some crayons to keep them occupied during waiting times.
Asda
At Asda supermarkets, kids can eat for just £1 all day, every day, in their cafes. There is no requirement for adults to eat in order to receive the discount, and this applies during every half term this year.
On top of this, children are able to receive a free piece of fruit, such as an apple, pear or banana, alongside their £1 hot kids’ meal.
Bella Italia
From Monday 16 February to Friday 20 February children can eat Italian food at the chain for free all day. All that is required is one adult’s main course is ordered per free kids meal, which is made up of a starter, main, dessert and drink.
Children must be between the ages of two and 11 to participate.
Bill’s
When eating out with up to two children, you can secure them both free meals when an adult orders any main, at any time of the day. This deal only applies at Bill’s restaurants between Monday 17 February and Friday 28.
Coconut Tree
Throughout half term kids can eat entirely for free at Coconut Tree restaurants, although this must be when accompanied by a paying adult. The children must be under 10.
Farmhouse Inns
Across both Farmhouse Inns and Farmhouse Kitchen, up to two kids can eat completely free on weekdays from 16 to 27 February. All that’s needed is for one adult to buy a main meal, breakfast or carvery, and the kids’ meals will be on the house – as well as a free scoop of delicious ice cream.
Flaming Grill
Flaming Grill pubs, sitting under Greene King, are once again extending their kids-eat-free deal during the half-term period. The offer is valid on weekdays from February 16 to 27 in England and 9-20 in Scotland.
The kids’ meals include the option of two veggies or one side and one veg, while also adding in a free dessert. Not to mention, for those slightly older kids or bigger appetites, young guests can upgrade to a larger meal for just £1.
Frankie & Benny’s
For an Italian feast, kids can eat free at Frankie & Benny’s this half term when a purchase is made of an adult main. This has to be one adult main ordered per free kids’ meal. The deal runs from February 16 to 20 in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Harvester
During half term children can eat for as little as £1 between Monday and Friday at Harvester restaurants, alongside the purchase of an adult main. In order to secure the deal, you can sign up to the Harvester app, and you should receive a £1 meal voucher.
Hungry Horse
Returning this half term is Hungry Horse’s Kids Eat for £1 on weekdays with a paying adult deal. When any adult main is ordered, including lunch, you can add up to two children’s small main deals for £1 each.
The deal includes a child’s main, dessert and a drink, which can be upgraded to a larger meal for a mere 50p extra. It’s an offer available on weekdays from 16 to 27 February.
Las Iguanas
By downloading the Las Iguanas app for free, you can secure the restaurants’ ‘mini Iguanas’ meals for kids ages 12 and under for free.
One child is able to secure a free main, two sides and a dessert with every adult main purchased, or instead three tapas dishes. Although, the deal is limited to one per table.
Morrisons
Kids can eat for free all day, every day in Morrisons cafes across the UK during half term. To secure the offer, simply order an adult main meal over £5 for one free kids’ meal.
Pizza Hut
Nothing says ‘half term’ quite like some pizza, especially when it’s just £1 for kids. Children can dine out on a pizza feast with the Pizza Hut kids’ buffet every day after 2pm when you spend a minimum of £9.99 on other food.
Subway
If you’re in need of a quick bite to eat this week, Subway’s Kids Eat Free deal has made a comeback. You can get your hands on one free kids’ meal, made up of a 4″ sub, a snack and a drink, alongside any footlong sub purchased.
The deal is available across participating restaurants in the UK and Ireland from February 14 to 20.
Tesco
The supermarket is offering kids to eat free across 317 of its in-store cafes this half term. The deal is available only on weekdays and can only be valid when something is purchased from the café menu, which can be as little as a 65p piece of fruit.
Turtle Bay
Children can bag themselves a free meal across Turtle Bay restaurants this half term if an adult spends at least £15 when ordering from the main menu. Be sure to call your local restaurant ahead of booking for details on dates and times, as there is very limited information about this deal online.
Yo Sushi!
This half term kids can eat free all day from Monday to Friday when attending a restaurant with a full-paying adult. The minimum spend must be £10, and the offer is only applicable during the school holiday period.
Zizzi
The Italian restaurant’s kids’ menu, also known as the Bambini meals, is completely free during half term, along with some added candyfloss sundae for under 12s. This applies when an adult main course is bought between the dates of 16 and 20 February.
In order to secure the offer, you need to download the Zillionaires’ Club App to redeem the code, which you can show at the restaurant.
Travelodge
When starting your day out right with a big breakfast, Travelodge are offering something a little more this half term. Adults can indulge in the all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet for £9.75 and take up to two children under 15 to eat for £1 each.
TGI Fridays
Children are able to eat free all day every day at TGI Fridays if you’re a ‘stripes rewards member’ who has bought an adult’s main meal. You can download the app to become a member before your visit to secure the deal.
