Shoppers looking to beat the cold this winter have been rushing to buy an electric blanket on Amazon to keep cosy. The Silentnight Comfort Control Electric Blanket has been bought over 8,000 times in the past month, and it could be an ideal electric blanket to keep shoppers snuggly on dark nights.

The Silentnight Comfort Control Electric Blanket, priced at £35.45 in double size, features a fast heat-up with three heat settings, which Amazon says costs as little as 1p to heat a bed. It’s made from a warm fleece material with a detachable controller, so it is machine washable.

Plus, it has easy fit, elastic straps to secure the blanket to the bed. There’s also a super king size option available, which is currently priced at £42.97 down from £55, saving shoppers a handy 22%.

The Silentnight Comfort Control Electric Blanket also features overheat protection for ‘total peace of mind’, according to the brand. The blanket measures in at 135 cm x 120 cm, meaning it sits away from the edges of the bed so it remains flat while in use for safety.

Alternatively, shoppers looking for a highly rated but wallet-friendly electric blanket could look at Dunelm’s Cosy & Warm Electric Blanket, which is priced at £22 to £34, depending on size, available in single, double and kingsize. It features similar elastic straps to Amazon’s Silentnight Comfort Control Electric Blanket and is machine washable with three heat settings, but made from polyester.

The Silentnight Comfort Control Electric Blanket Double is available at Amazon.

Savvy shoppers could also look at Debenhams’ Neo Single Size Electric Heated Underblanket, currently priced at £20.26 down from £52.99 in single size, with a double priced at £22.51, down from £74.99. Unlike the Silentnight Comfort Control Electric Blanket, it features dual temperature controllers with auto shut-off timer options, and is even tumble dryer safe, the brand says, with its detachable digital controls.

Buyers at Amazon have been impressed with the quality and no-nonsense operation of the Silentnight Comfort Control Electric Blanket. One review said: “Looks great, keeps you warm, nice quality. Great for its value.”

Another added: “Warms up very quickly no matter what setting you have it on. Comfortable to sleep on and fits on the bed very well. Great quality material and also cheap to run on electricity at night. It’s an amazing product.”

A third said: “I have owned many electric blankets over the years but this one is without a doubt the best one ever.”

Not all shoppers felt the same, however. One buyer said: “Another added that they felt the first heat setting was too low. The review said: “The only small drawbacks are that it doesn’t cover the entire mattress (it sits on top rather than wrapping around), and the first heat setting is so low you can barely notice it. Aside from that, the higher settings work well, and it’s comfortable, safe, and does exactly what it promises. Overall, a great product that makes winter nights much more cosy.”

The Silentnight Comfort Control Electric Blanket can be found at Amazon.
