Give your bedroom a luxury upgrade with Dunelm’s quilted duvet and pillowcase set that ‘looks like you’re in a 5-star hotel’ and comes in eight different colours

Nothing beats the feeling of checking into a hotel room and flopping down on a comfy, luxurious bed, but you can easily replicate that feeling at home by turning your bedroom into a calming sanctuary. One of the easiest ways to do this is by upgrading your bedding, and swapping it for something that feels high end.

One set we’ve spotted recently is the Mandalay Duvet Cover and Pillowcase Set at Dunelm, which embodies that same plush feeling you often get in top hotels. Coming in sizes single up to super king, it’s priced between £32 and £52 depending on which size you get.

Dunelm bedding that keeps you a ‘good temperature’ while you sleep is now 30% off

The set brings that high end hotel feel with its quilted, intricate pinsonic design, with a reviewer saying: “Duvet and throw stunning together they are top notch look like you are in a 5 star hotel. The duvet is so beautiful”. The set includes both a duvet cover and matching pillowcases in the same quilted pattern which gives it a cohesive, stylish look.

The Mandalay Bedding Set is made from 60% recycled polyester on the quilted side, with the plain reverse side made from 50% cotton for a soft, breathable feel on your skin. It’s also machine washable, which makes it easy to keep clean despite its quilted design, and comes in a choice of eight different colours including yellow, olive green, taupe and white.

You can pick up a similar style bedding set at Next, where the Natural Duvet Cover and Pillowcase Set is £35-£65 and features a textured floral jacquard pattern on it for some understated sophistication. If you still want to bring that luxurious feel but don’t want to replace your entire bedding set, a bed spread is a great alternative.

At Dusk, the Savannah Four Layer Quilted Tufted Muslin Bedspread is £55 and drapes nicely over the top of your bedding to add a quilted look whilst keeping your duvet clean from dust or pet hair. If you want something a little more colourful, the Patchwork Star Multicolour Velvet Quilt from Oliver Bonas is perfect, coming in a multi-coloured velvet material with a traditional diamond-pattern quilting.

But plenty more shoppers have been praising the Mandalay Bedding Set for its practicality, with one reviewer writing: “I have just bought another set of this bedding – both in white. It is a bit on the heavy side, but it looks beautiful, sits perfectly on the bed and does not need any ironing. Definitely a WINNER.”

Another wrote: “This duvet cover is beautiful. Good quality and generous sizing. It looks and feels far more expensive than it is. I liked it so much that I bought it in two colours and highly recommend.”

One did caution, though: “Looks and feels great , but we found it to heavy which made it to warm for us.”

Another said: “Love the texture and colour but it’s bigger than a double duvet. As a result it gets loose constantly.”

But the Mandalay Bedding Set has more than 1900 five star reviews, with another saying: “This is the most fantastic bed set i have ever had. It looks so good…..i am going to buy a second one. It is really chunky and I think when the summer comes it will be fine as it is without the duvet inside. Love it.”
