Dunelm’s homeware sale is offering 20% off the Pippa Quilted Bedspread, now just £36, which shoppers say rivals a £240 John Lewis cover. Available in five colours, here are more options to consider for your bedroom.
Whether your bedroom is spacious or compact, everyone deserves a sanctuary that feels calm and encourages restful sleep. Far from being purely about looks, the way a bedroom appears and feels can have a real effect on your mood and general wellbeing.
Considered design can turn an ordinary room into a practical haven that encourages relaxation and renewal. Fortunately, transforming a space needn’t involve costly or lengthy alterations, thanks to Dunelm’s sale, which you can browse in full here.
Since the bed is typically the largest item of furniture in a room, simply swapping out duvet covers or introducing accessories such as Dunelm’s Pippa Quilted Bedspread is an excellent way to breathe new life into any bedroom. The bed throw has been slashed by 20%, now priced at £36 rather than £45.
The Pippa Quilted Bedspread is available in five shades, including blue, natural, pink, purple and sage green. A luxurious and elegant addition to any bedroom, it showcases an intricately quilted pattern complemented by delicate embroidery.
Made from soft recycled polyester, the quilted bedspread offers a velvet-like texture that feels cosy and welcoming. Despite its sumptuous look, the fabric is lightweight, making it perfectly suited for warmer months, reports the Manchester Evening News.
The Pippa Quilted Bedspread can be layered over the bed for a luxurious finish or used as a lightweight duvet alternative when the temperature rises. Measuring a generous 235cm by 235cm, the throw offers plenty of coverage for both double and king size beds.
Beyond its aesthetic charm, the bedspread has been created with everyday convenience in mind. It’s fully machine washable and can be tumble dried on a low heat setting, making it remarkably simple to maintain.
Meanwhile, Dusk’s Bordeaux Contrast Floral Matelasse Bedspread is priced at £28. The piece features a mustard base adorned with a contrasting white floral design.
The matelassé weave lends it a textured finish and lightweight quality that’s ideal for layering throughout the year. Sized generously at 250x260cm, the bedspread is crafted to drape gracefully across a king or super king bed, offering full coverage with an elegant drop on both sides.
On a double bed, it creates a more relaxed, generously proportioned effect. Alternatively, the White Quilted Motif Bedspread is available for £50 at Sainsbury’s Habitat.
The timeless blue and white motif brings a fresh, soothing aesthetic that complements existing bedding beautifully. Crafted from 100% cotton, it feels naturally soft and breathable against the skin, while the quilted structure adds visual interest and dimension without feeling heavy.
Over at Dunelm, the Pippa Quilted Bedspread has achieved an impressive overall rating of 4.7 out of five from 77 reviews. One delighted customer said: “Quality is amazing for the price. Better than a bedspread I paid £240 for from John Lewis.”
A second shared: “Absolutely fabulous for the money. Looks really expensive, soft and cosy, and quite lightweight. I, also as another reviewer, have an expensive John Lewis bedspread which we find heavy and very structured.
“If it’s up over you, it restricts you moving around, so, even though I paid £££ for it, it was time to go. This one is great , would have liked a larger size as we have a super king bed, but it works ok.
“I didn’t know what it would be like but I’m over the moon with it,” a third wrote. “Colour is a gorgeous blue, really good quality. Lovely fit For our double bed and nice and warm. Love it.”
However, one customer was disappointed with the condition of the Pippa Quilted Bedspread upon delivery, awarding it just two stars. The review states: “The bedspread is really nice but on arrival it was just a mass of creases and took me almost an hour to iron to a reasonable standard.
“It is not supposed to be ironed but I was very, very careful using a cool setting on my iron and all was well. The two flat sheets for a king size bed were ok but arrived absolutely crushed again. Each sheet took me an hour to press, I am 83-years-old so not an easy task.
“Not sage green,” reads one three-star review. “I bought this bedspread online in sage green to match Dunelm’s sage green sheets and pillowcases bought recently.
“The colour is much darker than their sheets. I would say its a laurel leaf green, not sage. I’ve kept it as the quality and weight are as expected.”
That said, another shopper was delighted with their recent Dunelm buy, writing: “Excellent quality, looks more expensive than it was. I adore the mauve colour it completed my bedroom colour scheme. Generous in size.”
A further five-star review states: “I had been looking for a quilted bedspread for quite a while when I found this one on Dunelm. It’s a lovely colour that goes perfect with my colour scheme.
“It fits my king-size bed perfectly as I didn’t want one right to the floor. It’s a good thickness and feels luxurious. Very happy with my purchase.”
