Donald Trump has issued a bizarre call to the UK claiming he could help slash energy costs in the country.
His ‘advice’ centres on his hatred of offshore windfarms – and backs more drilling for oil in the North Sea. The US President praised his recent trade deal with the UK but quickly claimed the nation needed to start drilling again. Although Trump has claimed this is about energy costs, he has previously clashed and fought with the Scottish government over the views from his golf course in Aberdeenshire.
The US President have previously whined about the views of an offshore windfarm that can be seen from his Trump International Scotland course in Balmedie.
Trump, on Truth Social, wrote: “Our negotiated deal with the United Kingdom is working out well for all. I strongly recommend to them, however, that in order to get their Energy Costs down, they stop with the costly and unsightly windmills, and incentivize modernized drilling in the North Sea, where large amounts of oil lay waiting to be taken.”
