What is the World Economic Forum?
The World Economic Forum (WEF) has been running since 1971 with a “55-year track record of enabling global cooperation,” according to its website. Held in Davos, Switzerland, every year, the gathering sees global leaders come together to “improve the state of the world”.
Its website continues: “We align our work around three impact areas: Growth, Resilience, and Innovation… Working with partners across these areas to facilitate efforts to unlock new economic opportunities, enhance societal well-being, advance technology and innovation, and accelerate the transition to nature-positive, future-ready systems.”
Some of the major global issues often discussed at the WEF include climate change, tech and economic instability. This year’s event will run from today until Friday.
