Shoppers can take advantage of the online sale whilst stocks last
People are getting compliments about how nice their homes smell when they use a calming M&S candle. People are snapping up an online offer that reduces the cost of this XL jar to almost half its usual price.
The Apothecary Calm Extra Large Three-Wick Candle is sold both in stores and online for £40. However, in an online sale, shoppers who order the candle, which smells of “warm cedarwood with soothing lavender and sweet orange”, can get it for almost half of its value.
The £24 deal is subject to availability, with options for home delivery or click-and-collect available as early as tomorrow (February 14). Describing the candle online, M&S bosses said: “This extra-large three-wick scented candle from the Apothecary Calm collection creates a restful atmosphere in your home.

“The glass vessel houses a harmonious fragrance that combines warm cedar wood with soothing lavender and sweet orange. With an impressive burn time of up to 80 hours, this candle offers long-lasting enjoyment. The stylish presentation packaging makes it an ideal gift for someone special.”
There are similar online deals elsewhere for people looking to enhance their home with a calming candle. Dunelm is selling a Serenity Calm Candle, with notes of bergamot, lavender and sandalwood, from £10 online. Elsewhere, shoppers can get a Lemon Lavender version of Yankee Candle’s Signature Large Jar at Boots for £29.99.
However, dozens of shoppers were jumping at the chance to claim the bargain from M&S. One said: “Bought this candle when it was on offer – it smells divine and will be buying again!”
Another wrote: “Lovely candle, bought in the sale, so a great price. Smell is very subtle, but my favourite of this range.” A third put in their review: “Bought as a gift [and] the recipient says it smells lovely and is lasting well. I have the diffuser with the same smell and it’s the loveliest smell.”
Someone else said: “Absolutely love this range, smells amazing, not too strong, just a beautiful, calm fragrance enveloping my home. Bought three – one for myself and two for birthday gifts, as I know my nieces love them too.”
But, not all shoppers were as pleased as the almost 40 five-star reviews. One unhappy customer claimed: “Candle was disappointing. Only had two wicks, which didn’t burn evenly and kept going out because of this. I ended up throwing it away.”
There was another who felt people should know: “Although the smell is lovely, the wicks are very thin and fragile. They keep breaking off and all the melted wax sits in the three areas around the wicks, so the rest of the wax is not getting melted. Very poor design.”
But, as mentioned before, the vast majority of shoppers had glowing reviews of the candle now on offer. One more shopper shared: “Fantastic smell and long lasting, everyone comments on how nice my house smells when they’re lit.”
