When it comes to health and wellbeing, there is lots of advice and information out there and it can sometimes feel overwhelming. However, one dietician has spoken out about a popular trend at the moment – the use of ginger – and explained the benefits.
With this in mind, Amazon currently has a popular option of the NutraZen Ginger and Turmeric Shot Powder for £9.99, down from £12.99, on its website, saving buyers 23%. More than 1,000 have been bought in the past month and it is an Amazon’s Choice product.
The brand says it has reimagined the ginger shot trend with a convenient powdered blend that delivers all the warmth and zing of a fresh ginger shot, without the waste or high price tag. Each 100g pouch of the ginger shot powder makes up to 100 servings – making each serving around 9p per day – and it combines ginger, turmeric and cayenne pepper.
As for the benefits, according to an article with the BBC, there is no miracle ingredient that can boost immune systems, and it’s important to follow a healthy, balanced diet that contains all the vitamins and minerals that the body needs, say experts. However, there are some ingredients which, due to containing powerful antioxidants, can help.
They asked dietitian and BDA spokesperson Anna Daniels if ginger is one of them, and Daniels believes so. “Ginger contains bioactive compounds like gingerol, which has potent antioxidant properties and only a small amount – just one teaspoon or the size of a garlic clove, will provide you many health benefits.

If it’s tablet form that buyers want their supplements in, Holland and Barrett has the New Leaf Products Turmeric, Curcumin, Ginger Tablets for £10.16, down from £11.95 at the moment.
This gives them 180 tablets and each one contains a ‘95% active curcumin extract and includes ginger and black pepper extracts’. The NutraZen Ginger and Turmeric Shot Powder has garnered an overall 4.2 out of five-star rating on the Amazon website, however.
