A woman has revealed her long term struggle with getting a good night’s sleep that led her to take the plunge with a drastic last resort option – with seriously impressive results
Getting a good night’s sleep isn’t always as easy as we might like. Poor quality or little sleep can have serious consequences for both your mental and physical health, and it can be seriously frustrating when you find yourself tossing and turning each night, and feeling the impact of this lack of rest in the daylight hours.
According to the Sleep Foundation, “Sleep is an essential function that allows your body and mind to recharge, leaving you refreshed and alert when you wake up. Healthy sleep also helps the body remain healthy and stave off diseases. Without enough sleep, the brain cannot function properly, impairing your abilities to concentrate, think clearly, and process memories.” Without enough sleep, it can become hard for anyone to regulate their emotions, or to fight off illnesses, amongst many other negative impacts.
One woman, writer Alabama Jackson, has revealed her journey to a good night’s sleep wasn’t an easy one, and detailed the ways in which poor sleep even began to impact her romantic relationship with her partner for Tyla. Alabama described in intricate detail how her tossing and turning was keeping her partner awake too, and fights for the duvet ensued.
After turning to the internet for possible solutions, the writer described trying out the ‘Scandinavian Sleeping Method’ which has got a lot of traction online, This involves each person sharing the bed having their own duvet to make sure that nightly tugs of war are put to an end. Whilst the writer said this did mean she felt a little warmer at night, she still struggled to get a good night’s sleep, and the couple decided to take the plunge and purchase a high-tech mattress that ended up being a total game changer – the Simba Hybrid Pro.
“I climbed onto the mattress, lay there, and exhaled a sigh of relief. It was much firmer than the old one – and in the best way possible. Enough movement to feel like you’re on a bed, but not so much that you feel like you’re on quicksand. It was time to do the ultimate ‘roll-over’ test. My partner lay still, while I rolled my sleeves up, closed my eyes and slowly rotated my body to face the other way.
“Silence. The moment of truth. My partner hadn’t even FELT that I’d moved. She turned around and stared at me, our eyes locked in the shared feeling of happy disbelief. We felt like jumping for joy – something we very much could have done, with as much aggression as we wanted, risk-free.
“Instead, we slept. A deep, cool sleep, all our worries absorbed into the high-tech mattress and sent to a land far away. Not once did it get too hot, and not once did either of our movements disrupt the other. It’s now been two weeks since we tried the new mattress, and I’m the most well-rested I’ve ever been, and one step closer to both a happy wife and a happy life.”
