The heavyweight legend is due to walk to the ring for one last time on Saturday night, but was eager to make an impression ahead of the pre-fight press conference
Derek Chisora took a rather unorthodox route for his pre-fight press conference, arriving in a tank alongside good friend and Reform UK leader Nigel Farage.
‘Del Boy’ is due to make his 50th walk to the ring on Saturday night when he takes on Deontay Wilder at the O2 Arena in London. The 42-year-old has vowed to bow out after trading leather with the former heavyweight world champion.
The Brit’s career has been somewhat colourful, which includes slapping Vitali Klitschko, spitting water at his brother Wladimir, and throwing a table at Dillian Whyte. But amid his rather chaotic stint as a professional, his alliance with wannabe Prime Minister Farage certainly knocked many for six.
In an interview with The Guardian, Chisora explained how he encountered the outspoken politician, whose party he has supported in the past. A discussion eventually ensued how he would get Farage to the O2 – to which Chisora promised to hire a tank for his good friend. Needless to say, the boxing veteran is a man of his word.

The heavyweight star is well and truly embracing his final fight week, and ahead of the press conference, Chisora was seen rubbing shoulders with Reform’s Farage – arriving to York Hall in a tank. The politician had to be helped up onto the decorated vehicle – plastered with ways to watch Saturday night’s action.
“This is something different,” Farage said. Chisora – who was donning his iconic Union Jack balaclava – quickly followed and appeared to enjoy himself at the top of the tank. Unfortunately for the boxer, it looked as if he was not behind the wheel. As the intimidating motor made its way through London Bridge, Chisora could be seen waving at fans, while Farage seemingly embraced the occasion by waving Union Jack flags.

Chisora was born in Zimbabwe and relocated to Britain when he was 16. The fighter was asked about his good relationship with Farage, whose party has previously been hit with allegations of racism. The Brit was resolute in his conviction that Farage’s party isn’t racist – it’s just politics. He said: “You’re always going to find people trying to fight for what’s theirs. I don’t call it racism.
“I call it politics. If people support Trump they’re told, ‘Oh, you’re a racist.’ Nigel’s come up with his party and now it’s, ‘He was a racist.’ Everybody who’s not with the left? You’re racist.”
