Co-op “member” prices are lower prices for people who are signed up to its loyalty scheme – but before today, these were only available in stores

Co-op has added “member” prices to its website, so online shoppers can access the same loyalty perks as in-store shoppers.

“Member” prices are lower prices for people who are signed up to the Co-op loyalty scheme. Before today, these were only available in stores – but the supermarket chain has today expanded the scheme so it is available to online shoppers.

“Member” prices are now available on the Co-op website and on its app, as well as on Uber Eats. Keep in mind if you order online direct through Co-op, you’ll have to pay a delivery fee of 99p. However, just because something is lower in price for members, doesn’t mean you can’t get it cheaper still elsewhere. Always compare prices online using a shopping tool like Trolley.co.uk.

Member prices are across more than 300 key lines and everyday essentials, including branded and own-brand items. Some examples of lower prices include Co-op 800g loaf (85p normally, or 76p for members), whole cucumber (80p normally, or 72p for members), six salad tomatoes (95p normally, 85p for members) and Co-op baked beans 400g (55p normally, 49p for members).

Co-op Membership costs £1 to sign up to and there are currently five million members. Chris Conway, Co-op eCommerce Director, said: “Co-op Membership is a different way of doing business, we are focussed on creating value for our Member-owners who are at the very heart of our business.

“Growing and innovating our online channels is a fundamental part of our approach, and we are committed to providing greater benefits to those who own our business, our Member-owners, with savings across an extensive range and choice of everyday essentials and groceries ordered through our own online shop.”

Co-op has plans to grow the number of its stores where its own online shop is available to 1,000 during 2024. Co-op has also partnered with Amazon, Deliveroo and Just Eat but “member” prices are not available on these platforms.
