To close off the first series of her BBC talk show, Claudia Winkleman took a page from Princess Kate’s style book with a chic pair of penny loafers
For the latest episode of The Claudia Winkleman Show on BBC, Claudia stayed true to her signature androgynous style, stepping out in one of her signature polished shirt and trouser looks. But there was a subtle fun twist to the outfit, as she finished it off with a pair of classic penny loafers, a nod to one of Princess Kate’s favourite footwear choices.
Opting for a classic shirt, tie and black slim fit trousers, Claudia’s stylist Sinead McKeefry topped off the look with Duke & Dexter’s Wilde Thank You, Good Night Penny Loafer, a brand the presenter previously worn on The Traitors.
The pair features the phrase “thank you, good night” in gold foil across each shoe, a fun way to say goodbye to the first series of her new talk show. Priced at £275, the loafers are made from premium, durable Italian leather and sit on a handmade, prefabricated TPU sole.
Loafer shoes are having a major fashion moment right now, and the penny loafer in particular is already a huge trend this season.

Earlier this year, Kate Middleton stepped out for a visit to Castle Hill Academy to mark Children’s Mental Health Week in one of her most affordable buys. Proving that the penny loafer is going to be one of spring’s biggest shoe trends, the Princess championed British high street brand Boden with her Nya Penny Loafers.
Priced at £119, these loafers are far more wallet-friendly than some of Kate Middleton’s previous footwear, and Kate has shown us you don’t need a pair of designer heels to look polished. With both Kate and Claudia’s seal of approval, we’re sure the penny loafer will be the biggest shoe trend of the year.
Claudia has managed to bring her iconic look every Friday night, and we can’t get enough. One of our favourite looks from the series came from the 20th March episode, in which we saw Claudia wear a gorgeous velvet suit and blue silk shirt.
The standout piece? The Blue Minelli Shirt (£495) from Bella Freud. Designed from silk with a relaxed silhouette, the gorgeous shirt adds a subtle pop of colour while still slotting easily into Claudia’s typically monochromatic wardrobe. Styled under a velvet blazer, the shirt brought a soft, luxurious vibe to her go-to tailoring, along with its 70s pointed collar and contrast black silk necktie.
