Police were called to Epping Road, Ongar, Essex to a collision involving a lorry and a child – he was taken to hospital where he tragically died while the driver has been arrested
A boy has died after he was in a collision with a lorry in Essex, police said.
Police were called to the scene in Epping Road, Ongar, at around 4.20pm on Friday, where a 48-year-old man from Derbyshire was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injuries by dangerous driving.
He has since been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after the child died in hospital, Essex Police said.
The man has been bailed until mid-September while officers continue their investigation.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or have dashcam, CCTV or other footage of it, to contact them quoting incident 1045 of July 10.
