Tristan Shae Kerr was found with stab wounds in a house in the former coal mining village of Abertridwr, Wales – three men have been arrested on suspicion of murder

Three men have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a “cheeky” 17-year-old died after being found with stab wounds.

Tristan Shae Kerr was found in a house in the former coal mining village of Abertridwr, Wales. Two women have also been questioned on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Gwent Police attended a property in the village at around 5:45pm on Saturday evening following reports a teenage boy was seriously injured.. Tristan was later pronounced dead at the scene and his family is now being supported by specialist officers.

The three arrested men included a 26-year-old from london, a 24-year-old from Abertridwr and an 18-year-old from Cardiff.

Senior investigating officer, Detective Chief Inspector Jitka Tomkova-Griffiths said: “Tristan’s family continue to be supported by specialist officers, and our thoughts remain with them and his friends at this difficult time.

“We have made five arrests in connection with the investigation, and all five people remain in custody at this time. Officers remain in the area to carry out their enquiries.

“While we understand reports like these are concerning, it is important that people do not speculate about the identities of those involved as this could present problems to our investigation.

“If anyone has any information, however, please speak to our officers or contact us in the usual way.”

Tristan played for Senghenydd Saints RFC, the club shared in a public Facebook statement.

It reads: “Tristan will be fondly remembered by all those who had the pleasure of watching him shine on that pitch; as a vibrant and talented young athlete, whose passion for the game and playing with his friends, shone through.

“A cheeky chap around the club, with an infectious smile and personality to boot. Tristan will be sorely missed by us all.”
